So I've dabbled a very little bit in repairing lcd tvs first of all. I got this tv for free knowing it did not work. I removed all the screws from the back cover but it will not come off! Is there a trick I'm missing here? I know the problem is most likely some caps on the inverter boards I just can't get the dang back panel off! Lol someone know a trick please help! Thanks

I don't recommend trying this.

i see a recap in the near future... sounds like a recap might make it run. if so, you gust got a flatscreen for the cost of caps and some time soldering.
can you see what brand the caps are? if there are non-swollen ones of the bloated brand, replace them too, they could fail just as easily... or they could have failed without bulging. any other non-swollen caps--> report brand here, they might also be suspect.
and yes, pictures are always helpful.sigpic
