its also last firmware for N America... but Sony when firmware removed from its online portal it mean there are concern issue with FW. and they will release other one..
No one asked the owner who said he had amber and green LED how it come and why....if he replaced board or whatever the reason..

Here you need to select USB flash drives that are not large in size (4-8 Gb); not all flash drives can support the update. The flash drive with the update should be inserted about a minute after the LEDs start blinking. You can rename the file if the update does not pick up. It is better to have a USB flash drive with a built-in LED, then you can see communication with the TV. It happens that the update takes place with a black screen, there is no need to rush and press buttons on the remote control, take out the flash drive, turn off the TV, the update can last about 30 minutes. and more.
Yes, also, if everything goes smoothly and the TV is updated, then I advise you to do a complete reset after the update.

You are correct sir, it IS last firmware for N.A. They pulled the firmware in Jan. 2022, thats about 6 years, some pull it in 3 or less years. I think the main reason they pull it is exactly what you would expect, to make it harder for people to do simple fixes of their tvs, in hopes that they will buy a new one from them. If you contact them you can probably get it, still better than some "brands" will do: https://www.sony.com/electronics/sup...850d/downloads

Just contact them and tell them you need the latest firmware, and the answer if asked is always...I bought it new with cash and the receipt is long gone but doubt that will come up: https://www.sony.com/electronics/sup...tware/00269731

any firmware for different region will not updated on other sony version. because however it passed key authorization, as this keys one for all but after that its command to read build.prop content at system--- & recovery as well as kernel do forget... man should learn about Android how it work more than search and post things didn't work.

                    Good advice, as usual.

I don't do a lot of updating, if you follow Diah and the ones who do it often, seems like you should be able to update it BUT you have to follow directions exactly and try the different things they tell about, sonys are finicky, try different usb drives and keep it 4gb or under as suggested.
