LG 55UL6200 that suddenly will not power on

    Hi folks!

I was hoping you could help me identify my issue with my TV, or point me in the direction of useful information. From my original research I thought it was the power board, so I bought one from ShopJimmy, but after I installed it the problem persists. I've looked around at a lot of proposed fixes and it's not clear what the right one might be.

I have an LG 55UL6200. On 3/14/2023 it stopped turning on. The red indicator light comes on when the power button is pressed. On subsequent presses, the screen barely goes on for a few milliseconds, and the red light flashes three times. It goes on for such a short time that it took me a while to notice that it went on at all. All I can catch is a glimpse of the bar in the top left that indicates what input it is on, before it is back off. Most of the screen is black the entire time. I have tried all of the easy fixes, like unplugging the TV and holding down the power button, using different outlets or cords, and leaving it unplugged for multiple days.

I read the LCD TV basic troubleshooting guide best I could, but honestly it's over my head. I've always had a small interest in electronics but I have no training. Only thing I could glean from it is perhaps it's the T-CON board.

Thank you for any and all help you are able to provide!

I agree with Diah, it is a backlight issue. My suggestion is to order the whole set of led back light. Should be about $30 - $40 on eBay but look for a US shipping or you have a long wait. Get the backlight for right TV make and model and be gentle with the removal of the screen, and the little pillars that hold the screen up. Many YouTube videos on replacement of backlight.
Final note, these LCDs are meant for non-repair so be extra gentle with removing the back cover clips.

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
        by PantherDave
        Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

LG 39ln540v - red light flashes twice, no power to LED driver?
        by russpall
        Hi there,

I've got a 39" LG 39LN540V that's just spontaneously stopped working! The symptoms are - when I plug it in, the red light will flash on twice, then go out, there's no visible picture, and I couldn't see anything using a torch on the panel either. If I press the power button (either remote or on TV), the red light comes on continuously. If I press power again, the red light flashes twice.

The TV is using a power board EAX64905301. I've attached a diagram of the power output, I've tested the voltages with a multimeter and I'm getting the following:

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
        by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Insignia NS-LCD019-09 issue: Power light turns blue for 3 seconds, the flashes red before going solid read again
        by cajoeg
Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...
