Laptop computer that went completely dead no boot no power light no hard drive light

I checked switching power supply brick 19.2 volts multi meter only

No booting without switching power supply connected

Checked switching power supply with an (28 volt ) incandescent light bulb it lights then hooked up the switching power supply again now the laptop and boots like normal

What the heck is going on here

This is puzzling to me to exactly what was the issue with this particular laptop computer that is not that old to be doing this kind a of thing
be just being completely dead and just testing the switching power supply brick bring the laptop computer back to life

My wife said that she was using it and all of sudden it just went completely off and that was it

If it wont boot without the power adapter connected then doesnt that mean the battery has died and needs replacing?

No because the battery is good and full of power that is the reason I made this post because I still do not understand exactly what happened all I know is when I put a load on the switching power supply brick it powered the incandescent light bulb and I plugged the switching power supply into the computer and it came back to life so I really do not know what the issue really is
