    Toshiba 55u5766dg (Vestel)smart tv

The tv is a Toshiba 55u5766dg, made by Vestel.

    Sound: yes
    Picture: no

That is, when powering up the tv, the indicator leds starts blinking and at a certain moment during the booting, (let's say afer 3-4 seconds) the screen lights up and shows the Toshibo logo for a second, then the screen goes black until a short flash a couple of seconds later and the indicatorled turns green. The screen stays black: no backlight and no picture

When a connect a harddiskrecorder playing a recorded media, there's sound but no screen. Even with a torch i dont see a screen. No backlight, no picture.

Anyone an idea what could be the problem?

As the tv is booting and there's sound, i assume it's not the software, but a faulty component or so?

Enlighten me with your ideas! Thanks in advance

    Problem solved!

Replaced a bad capacitor that was bulged on the powersupply: 92uF/100V.
After that the backlight issue was solved.

This could have been solved in 2 seconds had you posted a good clear picture of the powerboard. https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=39740

It's quite difficult to make pictures of the inside of a tv when you don't remove the screws to open the tv

After opening the tv, i immediately saw the bulged capacitor so indeed it was a quit simple repair.

I had no idea which parts were in the tv and suspected the tcon of backlight perhaps to be defective. Turns out it's the PSU and that i need to swap the backlights also as there's a blue glow over the leds.
