I've repaired a TV that i found standing on the streets for the garbageman. Unfortunately, the tv got wet and there was -at least, that's what i think- some moisture behind the panel. During two weeks, it became less and less, I think the moisture is gone 99%, but i still see some residu on the sheets
It's harsh to see when looking straight to the tv, but it is visible from an angle.
Is it safe to clean these layers and if so, how do i do that?
It's quite difficult to make pictures of the inside of a tv when you don't remove the screws to open the tv
After opening the tv, i immediately saw the bulged capacitor so indeed it was a quit simple repair.
I had no idea which parts were in the tv and suspected the tcon of backlight perhaps to be defective. Turns out it's the PSU and that i need to swap the backlights also as there's a blue glow over the leds....
That is, when powering up the tv, the indicator leds starts blinking and at a certain moment during the booting, (let's say afer 3-4 seconds) the screen lights up and shows the Toshibo logo for a second, then the screen goes black until a short flash a couple of seconds later and the indicatorled turns green. The screen stays black: no backlight and no picture
When a connect a harddiskrecorder playing a recorded media, there's sound but no screen. Even with a torch...
Re: Repairing a Sony KD-49X8309 tv (android boot loop)
Last question..
The mainboard that's inside is:
Main board
1-894-595-12
Y210B300c
Sony BMFW
I see that a mainboard with the same partnumber can be found in multiple tv's with different models or even screensizes.
Would another mainboard with eaxcatly the same partnumber work in this tv, even when it's from another model tv? And, can i update it to the correct soft/firmware by downloading that on a USB?
Repairing a Sony KD-49X8309 tv (android boot loop)
I got a Sony led tv, that's stuck in a boot loop. It won't go any further the android screen and won't turn on further. The indicator light turns up white, and then it comes in a boot loop
It seems, that all of the Sony tv of this X-range will end with these problems after 2-3 years or so.

The problem is the mainboard. That's confirmed by Sony.
Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi there,
Been here some years ago but cant remember with which name, so i registered myself again. This time not for repairing an old imac G5 but because of a Sony 4k HD tv of three years old which wont start anymore. Probably an error in the eMMC if i understood it correctly.
