    Panasonic PF50G20S blinking 13 times

    Hello there,

    Google led me again to badcaps when trying to troubleshoot a dying Plasma that is sitting at my uncle's roughly 550 km from where I am. It's an old G20 from 2010 or so, that isn't being actively used so you can consider the panel "not too sollicitated".

    Symptoms: TV starts, works for 5-10 minutes, then screen turns black and safety kicks in and spits a 13-blink code with the red LED. Once this code kicks in, the TV will not display any image anymore. Unplug it for a few minutes, plug it again, it'll work then fail a few minutes later.

    I pulled a service manual but the blinking chart (p. 18) only goes up do 12. Very useful... Google led me here : https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=58593 basically pointing towards a failing A-board and suggest for professional intervention. I'm a bit puzzled by the fact that it's for now a non-permanent failure and would have thought about failing PSU (not able to maintain proper load) rather than an IC.

    Any suggestion to troubleshoot more thoroughly ? I don't have my hands on the TV yet and can't ask my uncle to disassemble it.

      Can you take the back off the TV and upload pictures of the circuit boards?
      Some common problems on this type of TV include bad capacitors and loose grounding screws.

          I suspect a failing BGA under the processor, it works until it gets hot and then not.
          One or more of the solder balls is cracked.

              Thanks for the suggestions! I unfortunately won't be at his place for the next month or so but I also had the feeling that it could be something warming up too much, then a safety kicking in (hence having to unplug for a while for things to start working again).

              Baking the A board was on the list of possible ideas (reballing an IC is probably above my competences even if I'm very good with a soldering iron). Possibly also, re-ironing most of the solder joints around it.

              More generally speaking, is there any systematic way to troubleshoot that (undocumented) 13 blinks ?

                  Second laptop has water damaged on ram ic after cleaning and changing the ic the laptop is working fine now

                  But now I have power led continuously blinking 5 times in both the laptop even after shutdown and when it is powered on the led keeps blinking 5 times .both the laptop is charging and working on both battery...

                  Hello...
                  my tv almost 2 years not powerd on and when i turned it on nothing happened and only 3 red light keeps blinking
                  i opened the back cover no sign of damage on the powery suply or motherboard
                  when i plug in the power i hear the reley sound like tik first and another tik..after that only red keep blinking..
                  another thing is even after i unplugged the power, The tv keeps red blinking 3 times for 2 almost 2 munites

                  I know the 6 blinks are a backlighting issue, but when I pulled off the back cover and turn it on, the is a white flash from with the panel then I hear what sounds like a relay trip and the TV goes into the 6 blinking light code. Before I pull all the electronics off and checking the individual strips, there is a on the power board, a harness with 4 wires that run thru the panel, which are what I believe are the LED lines, but Im not a tech so no clue.                   Hi everyone, I have a Panasonic OLED TV model 55EZ950E, as soon as I turn it on I don't have any image the LED goes from green to red LED blinking every 4 sec, I found the service manual suggests checking OLED PANEL, PB BOARD, T-CON connectors but it seems like everything ok, I didn't find any burns under the pb board

                  Asus rog strix g1614jv-Is96 freezes at random times and blinking charging light

                  I have the i9 version. I have tried disabling intel and Nvidia graphics in the device manager.
                  The laptop is just out of warranty.
                  The laptop continues to freeze randomly with the blinking amber charging light.
