    LG 55UB850V doesn’t turn on

    Hi,
    The red led flashing continuously.
I checked the power supply board and found 3.5V fluctuating down and up
I replaced the capacitors and the voltage , 3.5V still varying
    On bridge rectifier 320V

disconect the main boards from PWB and check yours STB 3.5V stable or not !

check your replacment capacitors if the legs - + correct or one faulty / stock one.

hit the ones you didn't change out with a hairdryer for a couple minutes, see if the voltage gets stable for a bit.

I test simple things first, including all diodes and resistors on top of board and all solder joints, look very closely at the solder joints, reflow any that look suspect, careful not to bridge any, examples of bad joints there if needed: https://www.google.com/search?q=bad+...ih=607&dpr=1.5

If those things check out, check the diodes and transistors on the heatsinks, youtube is your friend for transistor testing.

                Hi,
I re-soldered pads and checked the diodes and capacitors. 3,5V it still variable.
On pin 7 at ICE3BR4765J , Vcc voltage is variable. I think the optocupler on FB pin is damage. I will change it and I will come back latter

                        Yes, hairdryer no effects
                        Optpcoupler changed no effects
Output diode for 3,5V changed no effects
Moving forward I replaced the entire 3.5V psi with an external one:
                        - red led stay on solid
                        - when press button on remote control on main board those 2 leds flashing one , tv doesn’t turn on, front red led turn on
                        - no other aux voltage 12v or 24v or backlight
I suspect a software glitch caused by 3.5V pulses

Lenovo y520-15ikbm most of the time doesn't turn on

                          Hello,

I've repaired a few laptops in my life but this time my own laptop died😂.
Funny enough this one is a bit tough on me.
It doesn't turn on (most of the time).
                          Model: Lenovo y520-15ikbm (NM-391).

The only way to make it turn on is:
                          1) unplug battery + charger + rtc (seems irrelevant)
                          2) wait a minute
                          3) plug battery/charger in
                          4) on charger plugin, laptop turns on by itself. On battery plugin you have to press power button. Sometimes nothing happens and you have to try again.
                          5) when it turns on it also displays POST...

Liquid damaged macbook A1466 fan spins, but doesn't turn on.
                          by redbaron1007
I got a tricky one today in the form of a macbook air A1466 820-00165-A that will recognize the charger and turn the light green then back to orange and the fan will spin constantly, but the system won't power on. The screen never turns on, it doesn't make the bong noise it's supposed to, and pressing the power button doesn't do anything. When I took the board out to visibly inspect it I only found one spot of corrosion on the bios IC. I pulled the chip, cleaned it and the area with IPA and put fresh solder on both and put the bios chip back on, but when I went to test it again it still does the...

LG UH652T doesn't turn on and stands is blinking once a second
                          by mar1in
                          Hi everyone,

I've got this LG TV here that wouldn't turn on and be stuck in a standby loop (blinking red once every other second).
                          Did test the following:

                          * LED's seem fine as they all light up using LED Tester
                          * Power Supply supplied around 111V for each LED Strips (2x edge lid strips)
                          * PWR_ON would be at around 3V but dropping every other second (just like the standby light)
                          * DRV_ON is doing the same
                          * power supply has a green LED onboard, but that doesn't seem to do anything (stays off the whole time).
                          * there is a tiny clicking...

APC Smart UPS SUA1500 does not detect AC / doesn't turn on
                          by CapLeaker
Sooo... I have an interesting victim today. Our special on the menu is a APC Smart UPS SUA1500. Looks like it's got Alzheimer or isn't smart anymore (dead, dumb as f@ck), but at the same time it isn't.
Battery is about a year old and they are good at a resting voltage of 26.5VDC. If I press the on button for 3 seconds it does turn the inverter on and I get 120VAC no problem at the back and the battery shows full. So it isn't the battery. It also charges the battery no problem when plugged in add that as a twist!
However if I plug it in with the battery attached it won't...

                          Dell inspiron 13 5000 - Doesn't turn on, overheating
                          by Nagyesz
I have a Dell laptop with me, a DELL inspiron 13 5379. It doesn't turn on. After some investigation, I found that the charger is delivering 0-3V instead of 19.5V, and this voltage fluctuates constantly. Additionally, two ICs are overheating. I searched for these ICs, and it seems they are likely related to the issue of not having 19V.
Should I inject voltage somewhere, or should I replace the ICs right away?

So, PU4301 is overheating, and the surrounding area is hot, possibly just because of this IC.

                          ...
