you must mask a series of 8 subsequent pins on one of the two flat cables starting from the outer side, at random
Update: before leaving home, I have managed to swap the main board and now I have the image back! Yeey ! So the main board was damaged. But I still get the lines. If I remove one of the u ribbon I get the following image.
I will have to try your method of masking the 8 subsequent pins tomorrow.
Picture 1 - without removing the flex ribbon
Picture 2 - with the flex ribbon removed

I understand. Going from left or right to the middle of each cable. 8 at once. Should I try that before swapping the main board ?

Not that I know off. After getting so much information from here, my good guess is that he ( the local tech )has probably tried to fix it by working with the u ribbon cable and eventually totally damaged the main board. That's why my tv went from normal image but with horizontal stall lines to full blue.

It might aswell be, but I can only know if I'll try. With all the cables connected, while changing the channels I can see thr screen changing its lights from normal blue to darker, whilst with the lvds off, the screen stands blue. With all of this being considered and with some luck, I would like to think that it is a mainboard problem more than a display problem.
As i said, i am no professional but is more likely the mainboard as it is what controls the signal output to the screen via the LVDS.

Anyway PCB= printed circuit board; PSB= power supply board; PB= Power board.... aaaah! These acronyms!
Bought from one of the biggest suppliers for spare tv parts, with warranty and return in case this is not going to fix my issue. Happy days

My bad then, when I say PCB I refer to a board with the whole circuitry/components, whereas when I use PWB, I simply mean the power board. So yeah, I bought the main board.

Terminology, pcb=printed circuit board, includes powerboard and mainboard, just call them what they are mainboard has the video/audio inputs, powerboard supplies the power.

I am not sure where did you read that I bought the PWB ? I said I bought the PCB board , hopefully will put my hands on it tomorrow. Why? Because there was nothing else to try. Where? Ebay. Lucky, I know, only one piece on the whole ebay.

Will replacing the pcb board but (theoretically) having bad u ribbon or lvds cable , damage it again?

Samsung TU8000, backlight and sound on, stuck in blue screen
    by mar1in
    Hi everyone,

I've got this Samsung here that would be stuck in a boot loop.
After opening up and doing the tape block method, I was able to get it to turn on and play sound from the HDMI input, but with a blue screen.

Does that mean there is another combination of pins that I need to block in order to get a picture, or is there something more serious, faulty mainboard or faulty panel?

    Thanks in advance

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
    by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

    Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
    by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

samsung galaxy ao2s very temperamental after screen replaced
    by Chrissygizmo
Hi , I've recently replaced the screen in my Samsung galaxy ao2s, at first it wouldn't even turn on, it had the charging symbol on the screen when plugged in but the green circle wasn't going around to show it charging....
Ive eventually managed to get it on and working but it's very temperamental...

The battery icon always reads as 50% , when the phone goes into lock screen mode i sometimes can't get the screen back on unless I plug the charger in to get it to light up, also it keeps putting the camera app on.. u think it could be something to do with the side buttons. ...
