Hi
Vizio VP50HD, receiving HD Channels thru the built in antenna, Mediacom cable(I don't purchase, or have a 'box' for the HD channels, they are just part of what I receive, i.e. channels 112-3, 114-1,etc). This works fine(and believe me, you WANT HD channels when you can!), until a lightning or Static charge from a local weather system knocks them off the air. Also, the regular channels then go 'staticky' then as well.
I have noticed that this, most of the time, only applies to THIS unit, not the other TVs throughout the house(another Vizio VP20HD included).
I have tried to run a 'ground' wire from the 'multi-connector' in the attic where these lines originate from the street to see if this would help, but it doesn't seem to.
My only help has been to 'jiggle' the connection in the attic whenever the channels are lost, and most of the time that will get them back on. It's just a pain to have to go up to the attic everytime this happens. Trying to do anything with the connection on the TV or from the wall at the TV does nothing.
Any ideas what might be causing this, especially with this model Vizio?
