    Samsung UN46F5500AFXZA no backlight and no image

    Hello,
    I am hoping someone can help me with troubleshooting this tv un46f5500afxza. The TV has no image. This tv was given to me so I don't even know if the screen is broken. Here is what I did so far:
    - I tried to use a flashlight but I don't see anything.
    - I took the tv in a dark room and took the back cover off. I see the backlight flickering but very feint. It flickers like once per second.
    - I disconnected the main board from the power board (BN44-00611A). Still same behavior as far as the backlight goes.
    - I plugged a laptop to HDMI port and I can get sound.

    I would buy a new power board or kit but I don't even know if the backlights/LEDs are working. I appreciate any help I could get.

    probably a backlight issue, think I would just take it down to the backlights and see what's going on, the panels are very easy to break so need to treat them very gently, 46 isn't as hard to deal with as the bigger ones tho.

      could do the usual easier tests on the powerboard, check all solder joints, test the diodes and resistors etc.

        Similar flashing frequency with my Samsung TV, it turn out to be burned LED's, few still complete the circuit that's why it's flashing from time to time. There are guides as pinned topics in the forum to start measuring and checking stuff.
