    Re: Benq W1070 projector smps

I have managed to find some spots, that I can measure on the top side of the board and none of the voltages are present, at U42. Only the 14.7V is present.
Maybe, because the C297 it was shorted to ground, it may have damaged the IC as well? It was getting hot, when the C297 it was still on the board. I have also removed U42, and re-soldered it. I have placed an order, for new parts, but they are coming from far east.

This PMD1000, is some kind of power supply? It powers pretty much everything, in the projector?
I can't find anything about it, online.
I have placed an order for two of these, but it will take a while, until I will have them.

        Re: Benq W1070 projector smps

I have received the IC from China. After replacing it, the projector booted right up.
The image it was very dull. I thought, that I need to replace the bulb, but all it needed, a good cleanup.
All it was, this DC/DC converter(PMD1000) and a shorted smd capacitor, which it was a decoupling capacitor, at this PMD1000 IC.
Thank you very much for your help, it is greatly appreciated.

Benq W1070 projector power button blinks green
            by tibimakai
I have got this projector for free.
The only symptom, that I can see is, when I plug in the AC cord, the power button starts blinking like every two seconds, continuously.
Power, Lamp and Temp LEDs do not turn on.
Previous owner thinks, that is a bad transformer. I'm not convinced about that.
I have took it apart, inspected the power supply and ballast driver and did not see anything obviously bad.
At elektrotanya, is available the SM(schematics):

            BenQ W1070 Projector 5v rail
            by bermo96
Hi, I've a BenQ W1070 projector and the lamp isn't working, I replaced it but same problem. Then I checked the voltage inside and the 5v rail is showing 2.3V. The commands for the ballast is powered by this 5v rail. I've the schematics but I can't find any 5v regulator an the 5v isn't coming from the power supply board. Can someone help troubleshoot this ?

BENQ MP511 Video Projector - No Button Responce and wierd Image
            by Kiks412
Hey guys, I have this Video Projector that turns on, takes a bit to give some image, and when it does it displays a weird static image, and has no reaction to on-device buttons or remote whatsoever, even to turn off, only unplugging from the outlet. I'm new to this kind of device so I will be very happy to get some help with this....

Onkyo DX-V500 Laser Disc Player - weird SMPS fault
            by dkneyle
This relic from a technology path that came to a dead end (but still has historical interest) was brought in with a dead SMPS, which is based around a MK1210 device. I got it going after a battle. It seems to have a strange design - if it's not getting feedback that the secondary is OK it cause the big FET to go into full conduction and overloads resulting in a blown fuse at best or something worse! I'm using a Dim Bulb Tester (70W/230V) which thankfully has saved the day a number of times whilst repairing.

Now, it loads a CD OK. The motor voltage output (which is built onto the SMPS...
