Re: Ault Power Supply 3 volts @ 5 amps one second on one off
Thank you for pointing me in the right place on this board
SR8 = 101 which should be 100 ohms reads a lot higher that in either direction
First thing I am going to do is replace this resistor
SR9 = 705 which should be 7 megohms it more like 11.34 k ohms in either direction
Take this one out and recheck it
SDZ1 if this one is a diode in one direction it reads .856 in the other direction
It reads 1.67 volts in diode test mode
If this is a resistor with a value of “0” it is not reading “0” ohms not even close kohms range
(it looks like there maybe another digit but the solder is in the way)
I will have to see if this component has a line or a dot on it ones I have taken it it out
If it turns out to be a resistor it get replaced with another “0” ohm resistor
All of these reading are all mess up
One other note
This was checked with a lab power supply with voltage and current control
Most of the the white LEDs are not working and the amperage is a little high in both direction
This should not be the case it should have current in one direction and none in the other direction at 3.3 volts
I will have to replace all of the LEDs in the flood lights

Ault Power Supply 3 volts @ 5 amps one second on one off
This power supply run some white LEDs flood light in the front of my yard
This power supply has been in use for about 4 to 6 years until we had a bad thunderstorm which mess up a lot electronic devises which cost me about $1000
to replace
This power supply did not escape it vengefulness of that storm
I would like to try to fix it I can not find this size power supply in this foot print any more
It fits in a power supply box that was made by Malibu lighting company it nice and small with a photo cell all ready there
The problem with power supply is that it come ON for a second then goes OFF for a second and keeps repeating
The optic sensor was blown to pieces replace it and recap it except the main cap
Right next to main filtering cap there is a device that 4 pins but I can not read the numbers on it but I think that it must be the switching regularlator IC chip
I have another switching power supply that is the same exact model that works fine I can read the numbers on that if I take out filtering cap again which I can do
Any one have any ideas where to startLast edited by sam_sam_sam; 10-29-2017, 03:14 PM.Tags: None

by JimBanvilleThe sub developed a constant popping every couple seconds from woofer and power LED flickering with nothing but wall AC connected. Connecting an audio cable didn't change anything. It doesn't play but a second or two of audio in between the pops.
Opened it up and discovered the power supply is making a faint clicking or ticking sound.
I measured the amp's output to the woofer and it pulses up to 50mv DC to be driver. The pulses coincide with the power supply ticking/clicking.
I measured the power supply output going to the amp board and it too has this pulsing. Voltage cycles...-

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by sam_sam_samI have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump
One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy... -
by Gust zhangI have a 15 - inch Retina MacBook Pro from the mid - 2014 model. Here is the link: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...light=820-3662 . The battery broke some time ago. After I removed the battery and plugged in the original power adapter, the MBP could boot up normally. However, when I checked with IntelPowerGadget, I found that the CPU speed was limited to 0.8 GHz, and it ran very slowly. Later, I found a solution on GitHub. There is an open - source project called cputune that can set the CPU running speed. So I can now run the MBP at full speed. But another problem...

by Andreas_deHello!
i got a damaged Manson NTP-5561 (60V, 1,6A DC output) and and the main issue is that the controler IC for the LCD display has a short. The controler IC PIC18F87K90 is mounted on the back of the back of the LCD. Vss-Vdd = 3 Ohm. The 5V and 3,3V power line was killed as well, but that is not a problem. A new LDO 3,3V and 5V 7805 is already ordered.
Replacing the PIC18F87K90 is necessary but that makes no sense without having the HEX dump of the new controler.
Does anybody have such a power supply and could do a HEX dump of the Flash and EEPROM memory?
