who made this psu? - ultron un380pfc

I was just wondering which company made this psu. Is it good? Should it be able to power an old pentium d based machine? And also, can I replace the 4 diode rectifier with a bridge rectifier? Secondaries are GENUINE rubycon mbz.
    Cheers

I recognize that transformer from a mile away. They used Sun Pro as their OEM. And yes,you can replace the diode rectifier with a bridge rectifier - but make sure you wire a lightbulb in series with the fuse,so you can prevent any fireworks going off.

MBZ are too low ESR for most PSUs beign motherboard grade. Some units (like Seasonic) are designed for that and also these cheap wonders usually have extra wide margins. But still, I would use some low-ESR rather than MBZ.

Yeah, unless the originals are ultra-low impedance, Nichicon PW, Nippon Chemi-Con LXZ, or Panasonic FC would be better choices. And if the originals are ultra-low impedance, they're probably something like Chemi-Con KY or KZE, Nichicon HE, or Rubycon ZL or ZLH, longer life series than MBZ or similar MB-grade ultra-low impedance series.

Just to add to something you said, "cheap wonders usually have extra wide margins" could sound good, but what it entails is really slow response to load transients. Slow response can mean an output voltage dropping (and/or soaring) out of regulation when (not if!) a large, fast, load transient occurs and the PSU loop tries to respond. What is gained in stability margin is lost in response.

KZH are fine, I use them together with KYA, KYB, KZN, KZM. And Samxons RS of course
