    Finding proper replacement rectifier

    Hello everyone,

I'm trying to fix up my battery charger. Where I found a dead schottky rectifier.

This is the dead component PTR30L120CTF:
    PTR30L120CTF datasheet(1/7 Pages) PFC | 30A 120V HPTR Schottky Rectifier (alldatasheet.com)

    And I have a spare 30CPQ150:
    30CPQ150 datasheet(1/5 Pages) IRF | SCHOTTKY RECTIFIER (alldatasheet.com)

Can I use this diode as a replacement or if not, can you recommend me a proper replacement?
I cannot find the exact unit anywhere besides aliexpress and such.

    Thank you guys!

What make/model is the battery charger?
The IR part will run 20% hotter at 15A, it is lower efficiency, higher voltage (drop).

            It's a Husqvarna QC330 battery charger.

It's cooled by a heatsink + fan, so I hope it's will endure.

OK I'd asked to know the battery voltage because 120V 30A Schottky is a bit high voltage so I was wondering.
Higher PIV voltage diodes have a higher voltage drop and thus a bit more heat. But it's got a fan and the new diodes are bigger TO-247 (vs TO-220) with heatsink compound should run fine.

Husqvarna QC330 is not a reliable charger, many complaints about it. Seems to be 36V 330W for 2.5Ah cells in BLi100.

schottky's need to be rated very high - ideally 10x the actual voltage because even a short spike above the rating can damage them.

Macbook Air M2 A2681 Kernel panics after screen replacement
                  by reformatt
Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...

Unknown transformer : how to find a good replacement part ?
                  by the_rem
                  Hello guys,

I would like a quite old but still good 800 W ATX PSU to be repaired. The problem was an extremely heavy coil whine coming from the small secondary transfomer on the PCB.

I desoldered it hoping the references on the upper side would allow me to find a adequate replacement part. Sadly the written references drove me nowhere but to the manufacturer (I-MAG). I sent them a message like a bottle in the see asking them to send me a datasheet of the transformer. And... They responded ! I received a kind of datasheet (see attachment) but my competencies do not allow...

PS4 controller left stick potentiometer replacement issue
                  by ezenia
                  Hello,

Not sure if this is the correct section, but I have a PS4 controller that I am trying to fix. It developed stick drift on the left stick and the usual simpler methods did not fix the problem.

So I went on eBay and ordered some replacement potentiometers. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174967976757 is where I got them from.

I took the green potentiometers off the replacement sticks and soldered them onto the PCB. Assembled the controller and ran some tests. The drifting was somewhat fixed (not fully in center, but way better than before). However,...

                  Casing Power MPT-301 [PCB ATX9806b-p REV: A3]
                  by momaka
This one should make @Pentium4 smile (if he is still reading BCN forums) – I got a new old stock / open box Casing Power MPT-301 PSU on eBay for $4 total.

Yes, it’s a very generic-looking box, but the manufacturer isn’t (at least not back in the days), which is…

                  Macron Power Technology Co. LTD.

Let’s look at the PSU itself.

The shell/case also appears quite generic, like many “sold-with-the-PC-case” units. However, the shell is well-formed and has decent steel thickness. In terms of...

Hi all, a newby question about a bridge rectifier I'm trying to identify.

I'm in the midst of reparing a battery charger in work which went pop, The bridge rectifier has shorted and took out a couple of other components. The rectifier in question has a part number KPB305G, and it looks like it's obsolete. Does any one know what I could replace it with?...
