    Thank you for your opinions, I don't know if I'm going to replace the other caps because they are pretty expensive and I'm not sure if it's worth it (who am I kidding, I know I'll replace them because it's fun, but I don't know when).

    About the fans, I was actually thinking about replacing them but I am amazed at how they are still working flawlessly after all these years when I've had fans crap out on me after much much less. So they're staying, they deserve it.

        Got this from my kid with a fault on primary side. Main power supply here is AC 220V. All caps were Ok, testing with 2 series lamp of 70W each, got a bright lamp . Checked main heatsink one by one with my component tester and found one 3 leg buddy MDP18N50 that passed away. Got same replacement after a week, tested, short was gone, now I got 310V on primary.

        Happy as a dog, added one case fan for some load and the fan of the PSU. Tested purple wire, got 5.1V, great!. Shorted green and black, fan spins and after about 5 seconds shuts down. I was able to measure doing several iterations...

        I have a PS5 that will turn off after anywhere from about 5 to 30 seconds after power-on. It will sometimes make it to Safe Mode, but won't last long there. The following are steps I have taken:

        1 - Tested on multiple sources of 12v power including 2 separate bench power supplies. Doesn't fix the issue, which at least to my mind, rules out the power supply as the problem.

        2 - Visual inspection of board. Absolutely no signs whatsoever of burns or failed components.

        3- Checked for standby voltages. All seem normal.

        4 - Added liquid metal and re-spread...

        I am a hobbyist (not a professional) so please be gentle...

        I recently received an XR-77A80J that wouldn't turn on. (Repeating 5 flashes when plugged in.)

        I did a hard reset by holding the power button for about 30 seconds until the set powered down. I then tried to turn it on and it powered up, bringing me to the setup screen. There's not a lot of detail on the setup screen but the picture didn't have any distortions, so at least a cursory examination suggests no physical damage to the screen. The set appeared to be working normally, but it shut down after about 15 seconds,...

        Hello good day to all!

        Recently I managed to get some time to troubleshoot this Onkyo av receiver which would not turn on display and was shutting off before there is any info on screen.

        I accidentally found fuse (4A 250V) f201 blown and replaced it with what I had in hand (6A 250v same package)

        I thought that replacing that would solve everything but never the less that was not whole story...

        All I have resolved is that I have a few more seconds (2-4) with now working LCD display...

        I am not sure though if replacing optocouplers...

        Hi,

        I have an Anker SoundCore 2 (A3105) that I saved from the trash (well, I guess there's a reason why it was supposed to go into the trash...). The problem is that it always turns off after a few seconds (sometimes it stays on a bit longer, between 30 and 60 seconds, but it still turns off). The power light turns on and the bluetooth light starts blinking, but both abruptly turn off again. The "turn off sound" is still played after the lights turn off.
