If you are talking about SPSL then have you tried setting your meter on that spot while adjusting the idle screw for that section? That would be R6043 to see if you can lower the voltage?
Tried that too with SPSL, not any significant change.Re: Onkyo tx-nr414 shutting off after few seconds

Re: Onkyo tx-nr414 shutting off after few seconds
If by ohm-ing out you mean ohm-ing out for idling current adjustment, then answer is yes, at least at the time I checked for that, and that was good.
I have problem with output offset on SL.Last edited by Tamo Neko; 05-31-2022, 11:39 PM.

Re: Onkyo tx-nr414 shutting off after few seconds
There is -0.5v output offset on one channel only (SL) going to speaker relay out - that is for sure too much, and by mine opinion would trigger protection as it is connected directly to vprotect line...
-0.5v is at P6083, NPLG-2P29 (page 9 (2IJ location on this page)) or in short NFSL line to ground.
60v is because mine mains voltage *is at 250vac, as I have already mentioned at this thread but would not consider it significant.
Now that you mentioned it again I have double checked that by lowering...Last edited by Tamo Neko; 05-31-2022, 10:07 PM.

Re: Onkyo tx-nr414 shutting off after few seconds
I really don't understand this offset which seems to come from nowhere...
Preamplifier board checked
Amplifier circuit checked
Output transistors replaced but not checked
Protection circuit checked
only mismatch is +-59v where in service manual says +-56.2...

Re: Onkyo tx-nr414 shutting off after few seconds
I do have an isolation transformer, might be good time to start using it ,
No the cap had not exploded, but it was pre biased transistor q4104.
I have a transistor with same parameters except for two incorporated resistors , in original transistor both are 1kohm and in mine transistor they are 47k...
Will it change something obvious or should I replace that with what I have?

Re: Onkyo tx-nr414 shutting off after few seconds
Let me correct myself.
Diagnostics mode works except for: It can not engage "OPERATION CHECK 7" - (3-0~3-14) as it instantly shuts off.Last edited by Tamo Neko; 05-25-2022, 04:47 PM.

Re: Onkyo tx-nr414 shutting off after few seconds
And about note *6 which is not described in this manual.
I have found what is written about that in other manual for tx-nr838 :
*6 4-00~4-18:PRRLF=ON
DSP chip might be bad???Last edited by Tamo Neko; 05-24-2022, 12:04 AM.

Re: Onkyo tx-nr414 shutting off after few seconds
Yes, sorry. I mean page 21 that can be found in attached tx-nr 535 pdf.
That is OPERATION CHECK 8 - Auto Measurement mode whichever one comes available first and that is 4-00 (or 4.30 if you try to enter it from 5.00) on this page -.......Last edited by Tamo Neko; 05-23-2022, 10:44 PM.

Re: Onkyo tx-nr414 shutting off after few seconds
OK sorry everything is ok, but unit still shuts off after few seconds...
Forget about faults I reported even cause off shut off...
It seems to me a lot non intuitive servicing this...
What I am for sure getting is reason for shut off is "other" or as in the manual says "-"
I will try re-flashing as there is nothing more I could think off right now...
I will recheck idle current before reflashing...Last edited by Tamo Neko; 05-22-2022, 01:00 AM.
