    Chieftec GPS-450AA-101A

this is pretty decent mid-grade psu.
primariy side is pretty much lytics starved, something i would like to see more from all mfrs(overall, i like designs with less elements better..).
i only see 3 lytics there; main bulk(capxon) and ltec on a-pfc board and one for +5Vstb circuit.

dunno, we don't have that brand over here.
but i do know i like the design.
lytics are not top-notch(capxon and ltec...i've found some reference here that ltec is now part of teapo...) but after a year and a half in service it still looks pretty fine.
i wouldn't hesitate to use this on my own machine.

this looks like a fsp-class psu to me, and that's good enough.

Corsair TX650W fuse, NTC thermistor, and (APFC? Power Transistor) fried

I read through this thread, and just want to confirm what i should do.
            https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...hlight=24N60C3.
This person's fault was exactly the same as mine, even down to the power strip and with the muffled popping sound.
I suspect that my problem started with an old power strip, of which a computer and a 2000W heater were plugged into...
I noticed melting and heat where the heater was plugged in, so i plugged the heater directly into a double wall socket, but still noticed the muffled pop sound when i turned on the computer, and...

            Antec BP500U APFC Coil
            by GnatGoSplat
Antec BP500U PSU fried in my wife's gaming PC. I smelled something unpleasant last night, so I had a hunch something might be amiss. Woke up this morning to a popped breaker and immediately assumed the APFC cap must have blown. I last fixed it sometime in 2011, there's a thread about it here someplace. APFC and secondary caps that time. Replaced them with Panasonic caps. 10+yrs is probably a good run. It's been running 24/7 the last 3yrs, eth mining with a 1070ti and AFK fishing in Black Desert Online, lol.

Anyway, cracked it open this morning, expecting it to just be the APFC cap...

Chieftec (Delta) GPS-450AA-101 A repair and possible upgrade options?
            by nick122
            Hi everyone!

I’m trying to diagnose (and perhaps even upgrade) this Chieftec (Delta rebrand) power supply from an old rig
The computer just stopped turning on one day. No explosions, no magic smoke, it just died.
There is no 5vsb, and nothing happens when I try to jump start it, it’s completely dead…

I took it apart and nothing looks out of the ordinary. The fuse isn’t blown and the main cap gets charged (found out the hard way lol)
The caps are mostly ltec with a samxon primary, none of which are bulging
Any ideas what I should look...

            Chieftec Dragon LGA1366 Build
            by dmill89
I recently got ahold of a bright green Chieftec/Chenming "Dragon" case (I've always liked these cases, especially in "oddball" colors) and decoded to throw together a period correct-ish build.

            Components:

            Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R:
            CPU: Intel Xeon W3680
            RAM: 24GB DDR3-1333

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX1060 (I know a GTX1060 is a bit too new, I was going to use a GTX780, but it was too long to fit with the lower HDD cage installed, and the GTX1060 provides similar performance)...

            Chieftec GPS-450-AA with dead 20N60C3
            by zunasthegreat
Hello everyone hope all doing well!
I have this PSU (GPS450-AA delta oem) around for like 4-5 years and I had it recapped early 2020 or 2021 with mostly UCC KY and Nichicon PW's. The bulk was and still is fine, the original Ltec's were bloated and empty. The previous issue was some major coil whine noise and at times random shutdowns when going idle. Today it started tripping the mains breaker and I think I have dead APFC mosfets (20N60C3). Right now upon checking I have the Q1 and Q3 FETs dead so far and I guess those are responsible for the PFC circuit. The only thing I care is If there...
