    Jig (tool) for testing PSU's?

    Hi all,

I just signed up on this site... I know that a P.S. must be tested 'under load'...

one told me there is a 'jig' available at low cost, that provides a load for the P.S., and indicates performance by LED's... prob a 'quick', not 'deep', diagnostic tool, but it is all I have need for right now... have looked for, and have not found, such a thing...

Can one point me toward it?

Thanks in advance, for any and all responses...

    regards... dnorm

        This below is
NO substitute for a "real load" and a "real meter"
but if you want a quick way to kick one over and get an idea of whats happening

        its not bad

there are LED versions, but like I said only as an indication, don't take what they say as being true that the supply is ok

there is another thread going on building dummy load setups

Serious load for testing ATX PSU`s would be at least about 100w to 200w. I think a PSU who can give out that amount of power, would probably not the culprit.
