china laptop psu teardown.

so i got this for nothing,
so you know i'm not going to risk using it - what to do??
rip it apart of course!

some notes:
it has a part number if you want to get one.
the soldering is good,
the build is good.
the semiconductors are actually more than capable.
it's actually pretty damned good.

the bad stuff:
secondary caps are from SZWX - who the hell are they?
no led - i hate that!
transformer - the transformer is 27x28x22mm
can that *really* do 65w??

the mains rectifier is KBP307
3A 700v

the main cap is lscon PA series (custom diameter)
100/400 18mm

the fet is SVF7N65F
7A 650v fully insulated.

the output diode is MBRF20100
20A 100v schottky fully insulated.

smoothing is by a parallel pair of SZWX
1000/25 10mm

the whole thing is controlled by a Grenergy GR8874

Cheap and simple. Just replace the caps and you are good to go. Just the efficiency may be a little bit worse so I suggest not keeping these on full power for too long.

they are under $10 u.s.
i only wanted it for the HP/Compaq cable & plug.

i think it's good, but just dont trust the power rating - i'll keep it for something other than laptops.
