FSP ax450pn (low 5vsb), Enlight+Amacrox with missing component

    Hello..

Right now i have 3 dead psu, try to fix it, but because i'm a totally noob, i have problems.

    ++++++++++
    1). FSP AX450-PN with 5vsb problem.
At the beginning while i connect this psu to the motherboard, it refuse to boot.
but after waiting 1 minutes, it's start flawlessly.
Then i realize the 5vsb is low.
It start with 4.2v, then slowly raise. until reach 4.5-4.6v, and the motherboard, fan etc is spinning flawlessly.
But still raise until reach 5.1v and then stop.

for the first time, i think this is maybe because of capacitor fail.
so i recaps all small capacitor near optocoupler, replace the optocoupler, even replace the small coil.
but there's still the same, low voltage at the beginning.

then i replace 5v dm311 ic..checking the diode and even replace 5vsb transformer, (i take the components from the other unit that flawlessly normal)

    And, still the same..
Low 5vsb, and i have to wait one minute to reach my motherboard minimum voltage (4.5v) to boot.

    Any ideas?

    ++++++++++
    2). Amacrox AX550-80Plus - Missing component.

The second is amacrox ax550 (fsp oem).
    Primary caps is bulging heavily.
and after check, i note missing component from the psu.

one of smd zener diode with green-red-orange marking ring is missing.

after googling, i still have no idea about that zener specs..
    any ideas?
and can i replace it with "normal" diode?

    ++++++++++

    3) Enlight 500watt APFC with dead PFC IC.
the third psu is old enlight psu, model pps-500-204d, delta design with apfc.

dead psu, then i found one of zener diode in pfc modul shorted.
i pulled it, and found marking code 1 20 like the illustration below.

Without the zener, suddenly that enlight can running, except rather low in all rails (12v => 11.1v, 5v => 4.2v etc)

at my first taught, this is maybe 20v zener diode..
so i replace it with 20v 500mw zener diode..
but it can't working with the replacement..

then i found the other zener from my box with marking 2-15.
the stupid of me, i put that zener in pfc module, and switch the power supply on, and pufff..spark from the ucc3818n pfc ic.
I tried to replace it with CM6800 but not working.

So i wonder, what is the specs of zener diode with 1-20 marking code?
and, about cross reference of ucc3818 pfc ic...can i replace it with other ic..?

    ++++++++++

Thank you very much..sorry for my english, (this is not my mother language afterall, i'm from indonesia)

and sorry for (very) long question..

      Every components?

Well, i want it to, but, unfortunately, i have no a good camera right now..

if it's important, i'll try to borrow it from my neighbour then.

Start with overall pictures of the whole units, primary and secondary, stand-by supply and the bottom of the board. FSP has tens of platforms…

          oh..it's okay..
btw all problems is seems solved.

          1. after i've replace smd cap and smd diode near optocoupler, now everything running normal.
whew, i've always thinking that smd parts is the hardest part to fail..

2.replace the missing zener diode with orange-red-orange mark ring..i don't know what the hell is it, but seems everything running normal..still running for the test.

          3. got another pfc modul from the another dead psu, exact model. replace the pfc module, and it's run flawlessly.

          thanks for the help..

It's very nice being parts of this forum.

Corsair RM1000e - Help identify 5VSB Zener diode
            by hobostove
Hey there guys. I've got a Corsair power supply that's come across my bench dead. I usually don't mess with power supplies, but it's a slow week so I'm giving it a whirl.

Taking it apart I heard a screw rattling around inside, and when I got it apart I found a couple blown components near what I think is the 5VSB area.

There's a 22ohm resistor that's melted and open, but it still has the bands.

The other part is a zener diode and it's top went to jesus, so I can't read the marking.

It looks like the diode connects the source and drain of a TNY284...

            by sam_sam_sam
I have bought this Zener Diode for this project what size and wattage resistor value do I need to use to get near 50 watt output
I bought this from an eBay seller but unfortunately they only had one

I bought three from Vetco Electronics these are Sylvania ECG5185A 9.1@10w A to Stud what size and watt resistor do I need to use to get near 10 watt output
I bought three of from them to also make battery packs with this output power limit in mind

I want to use this battery pack and turn it into a 9.1 output battery pack output to eliminate using 9 volt battery...

What zener diode might fix the sound on Maestro Mayhem gaming chair?
            by nev1001
Hi, I'm looking for a bit of help trying to fix the audio unit from a Maestro Mayhem 4.1 gaming chair please.

The chair has a few speakers and vibration motors. All was well, for a while, but now the sound is gone.

It may be significant that I discovered my son was powering it with a 19V laptop charger when it should run on 12V - it did fully work, for bit.

I think an issue could be a zener diode (or capacitor) which has shorted out.

The board's bluetooth input still works, the vibration motors are working, so is the line out socket but not the...

Element 32 inches tv (ELEFW328B) Unknown component: Diode or zener?
            by Vincenzo2
My Element 32 inches tv (ELEFW328B) lost it's backlight (confirmed with a flashlight test) and the connector on the PCB (it has one board that has a processor chip, switch mode power supply, and backlight circuit) that has the two wires that go to the backlight LED strips has a very low voltage (28-29 volts) when turned ON, in my opinion.

Started testing components and found an SMD diode or zener that is shorted (even zero fusing resistors read a few tens of milliohms, while this thing reads zero).

I put some pictures here to show that it is labeled "M7"....

What Zener Diodes on a Linear Power Supply
            by caspian
            Dear members,

I have a linear variable power supply with unknown brand name that I used for voltage injection.
Then it failed. I discovered that its transistors (Q1 and Q2) are shorted.
In addition, I discovered that its zener diodes are defective.
I can replace the burned transistors.
But I do not know the model of the zener diodes. the model number is not marked on the zener diodes.
Therefore, I cannot replace the zener diodes.
I do not want to test the zener diodes in a test circuit to discover their model or value.
            no schematics are available...
