I have a used Corsair AX1200i Digital Power supply. It was given to me by a friend. RMA is not an optional. When I hook it up to a motherboard it trips instantly. So I started poking around with it. I pulled out all power cables exept wall power and turn it on with a small piece of wire. It will stay on for 20 minutes to an hour and it will trip. Then I plug it back into the board and it starts right up. So I hooked it up to my main system and it turns on for about 3 seconds and trips. It has a self test feature that works somtimes. I can hear a clicking noise coming from the area near where the wall power plugs in. Its an expensive PSU so I dont want to scrap it. Any help would be much appreciated!

Re: Sick Corsair AX1200i. Please help!
The clicking noise when you power it up is from a relay, which bypasses the NTC thermistor once tit has done its job and allowed the primary cap to charge up more slowly. the noise is perfectly normal on this PSU.I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!
No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards
