    Is this really 80+ Bronze?

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CiT-Active...22961000&rt=nc

From what I've seen of CIT it comprises of rebadged generic Chinese power supplies, but better built than your usual Solytech. Can anyone spot the OEM on this?

THat is NOT a HEC unit!
On the first look it could be an Andyson.

But I doubt that it's a commonly known brand...

Honestly, that looks like a YueLin. But it could also be made by Guangzhou Shanyang.

It really doesn't look that bad. After a recap I bet it could do 350W reliably no problem, probably even more.

Actually.....That looks just like a less beefy version of this Logisys I had: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...postcount=1722

Apparently, that one could actually do 750W, since it got certified (or, at least the sample did ) That one you have might even be able to do 500W in spec...

OLD Socket 478 custom bracket + NEW generic cooler
                  by BleedCap
I already posted this on vogons.
Its a 3d printed custom bracket for socket 478.
I used this AM4 bracket as a base design.
Its to be use with cheap generic clip based cpu cooler.

                  Reason for doing this is:
                  - Its hard to get/find a good copper base cooler. Even if you find one, the price is ....
                  - New generic cooler is cheaper and can use bigger fan (less noise)

I tested the bracket with cheap chinese horizontal cooler + fan taken from CM hyper 212 evo.
The processor that I was using is P4 2.4Ghz prescott....

Unfortunately I got rid of most of my power supplies a few years back so I hunted some on eBay. Of course I could have got some with already good caps but what's the fun in that when you can save unsuspecting victims on eBay from buying something that could cause them problems?

I'm also aware that Solytech is capable of making a decent unit, minus their caps. This one is on the 80 Plus website as being able to do its full wattage.

I bought two of these as a lot. One was made in July 2017 and one was made in September 2017. Interestingly, the only...

                  generic diffuser?
                  by linuxrunner
i have a 65" samsung UN65TU700DFXZA. my kid sprayed cooking oil from a spray/mist bottle onto the screen (2yr old thinking she was cleaning). oil ran down and seeped under the bezel on the bottom of the screen. It appears to have soaked/wicked into the diffuser i have a light colored splotch along the bottom of the screen that grew upwards over a day or two.

i have not disassembled yet but judging by the way it wicked up it looks like its been absorbed into the diffuser so i don't have a lot of hope of cleaning it.

i checked Samsung parts site but they don't...

Using car key fob as generic remote control
                  by Dannyx
Good day folks. It's been a while since I've DIY-d anything, so the other day I was thinking if it's possible to use the key fob of my car as a remote for other automation stuff. I have quite a few generic 433Mhz remotes and modules I picked up on Ali for various projects, but instead of having another remote dangling off the key chain, I thought I could use the car's own fob for more than unlocking my car when I'm near it. Say I come home and wish to switch on a light at my front door.

I already tried putting one of my generic receivers in pairing mode and hitting one of the 2...
