Dead corsair VS450 with blown TNY chip (cwt)

I have this Corsair VS450 PSU which lies dead and has an exploded TNY chip. Upon removing primary side parts like mosfets, the bulk cap and the bridge rectifier I've found that the primary cap is also a goner. (Photos)
The mosfets and the diode are fine and survived the collapse it seems. The TNY chip is shattered and from the online review/sources it was probably a TNY176~177.

Around the TNY chip there are 4 caps, 2X 220uF 35V and 2X 10uF 50V. All junk JUN-FU WG showing horrible reading. I replaced the 220uF ones with ZLH 220uF 35V and the 10uF ones with Nichicon SV 10uF 35V. Changed all the secondary ones too from Capxon/Aishi/JunFu into ->

      3.3V - 2X KY 2200uF 10V
      5V - KY 2200 10V + KY 1000uF 16V
      12V - 2X Rubycon ZLH 1800uF 16V (*no space for more than 10mm. Old were Capxon KF 2200uF 16V)
      -12 - Rubycon ZLH 330uF 16V (who uses 1000uF caps here?)
      5VSB - Nichicon HV 1500uF 16V + Nichicon PW 1000uF 10V

PG Cap near sitronix chip - Nichicon PW 1000uF 10V here

For the TNY chip I've placed a socket which I don't know if its a good idea cause the IC seems to need the pcb for heat dissipation. The new chip is a TNY178 and I've added a small heatsink on top. For bridge rectifier I used the PBU805 and I also changed the mosfets. The PFC one is a K3568 and the main switchers are now 2X K3569 which I had in stock. These are small updates 8A->10A (main) 10A->12A (PFC).

Well the psu *works*!!! even with that 100uF 400V cap! New cap will arrive soon and I'll do more testing. No room for more than 25mm diamater for the primary cap.

I see you done a full blown upgrade. What did you order to replace the main filter cap with?

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
          by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

How can I be sure that my EC chip is dead?
          by double_DD
          Hi all,

As the title suggests, how can I be sure that my EC chip is really dead?

I've recently gotten into this hobby of laptop repairs, and have successfully brought back to life a couple with some easy fixes, mostly shorted caps.

Now I'm working on HP Probook 455 G8, that had some "devil" run around on 3V line, burning a bunch of stuff. Luckily I have a dead 455G7 (for spare parts) so I managed to fix it (swapped burned parts) to a point that it will charge (both on barrel jack and usb-c), but it doesn't want to turn on. There is a 3V3 on a keyboard...

ASRock B650M PRO RS - BIOS CHIP 25Q256JW BLOCKED BY STATUS REGISTERS
          by DynaxSC
          Hi

I have a very strange issue with the BIOS SPI chip of an ASRock B650M PRO RS motherboard.
The SPI chip is an Winbond 25Q256JWEQ model (1V8).
The motherbaord doas not POST - it lits only CPU and DRAM EZ Debug Leds, and stays that way forever.
The Flashback function of the motherbaord is also not working, despite all instructions followed correctly - I'm 100% sure of this.

I have then desoldered the chip, backupped the contents, and tried to earease the chip in order to program stock image, but the chip is locked by status registers SREG2 (TB) and SREG6...

Corsair RM 750 blown schottky diode near ES1DF
          by iyas132
Hi there, i am currently diagnosing my corsair rm750 that wont turn on, after a power trip.

Before the power trip, previously i need to push power button on my pc case quite a bit in order to turn the pc (and power supply on), however after the power trip now i cannot turn the pc on at all and i opened the power supply, and found out some of the component(s) are blown. (picture attached)

My current diagnostic is that the (schottky) diode marked "SF" in the 5Vsb circuit are blown and possibly the ES1DF diode too.

Can anyone help me identify the component...
