did the woodlouse kill the viper ?

ok i have this washing machine that a woodlouse killed my but the washing machine killed the louse for sure .but the viper chip is in question . dont see any shorts and can see the internal diode is intact . only thing i can find is r27 100 ohm resistor that acted as a fuse was burned open i mistankey replaced with 1k and was greeted to a nice smoke show and blackened board but was just soot . am thinking replace with 100 ohm and see what happens then if all fails sack the switching supply and wire in a proper supply as have lots of that shit in stock already . the board is the same as on this forum https://www.plcforum.it/f/topic/3076...segno-di-vita/. i can get actual pics in daylight . oh yes the louse had expired right across c32 that seems to go between primary and secondary on the transformer

That is hard to tell if that killed the viper or not. I did see them and others testing all right, but then be just dead sitting there. There is no way of knowing until you replace that resistor and fire it up again.

ok the viper06h is definitely dead . replaced 100 ohm resistor then fired it up through my light bulb and a nice bright flash from the viper . i dont have a replacement and have to order min 10 of them and a 2w 100 ohm resistor .

new viper and resistor soldered in and the board seems to power up fine on the bench so next job is spray it with conformal coating then test it in the machine .

sweet! Unfortunately there is no other way around it. Like I said, they can do strange things. Good thing is that you fixed it!

all done and tested on a long wash . all seems fine apart from the touch buttons that are sticky . possibly an issue with damp getting in .. can just about deal with it if i can put the child lock at the right moment . otherwise the temp is forever changing itself and sometimes spin speed as well .
