How to make coil whistle again?

I have a fairly new motherboard that I just started using, and last week it made a 12KHz - 16KHz whistle for at least a minute until I shut it down, then the sound never came back. The sound was from around the CPU, meaning it was probably from the voltage regulator (stopping the fan did nothing), which has solid polymer caps (but they're Sacon). I couldn't pinpoint the noise by listening through a tube, and no coils or MOSFETs were hotter than the others, and pressing on each coil did nothing. I didn't see any solder cracks under a magnifier, but I resoldered the coils and MOSFETs anyway. Heating the area with a hair dryer didn't change anything, but I didn't use freeze spray because I don't know if sudden temperature changes are safe for MOSFETs or coils.

In case the whistling returned at a higher frequency, I had my 5-year-old listen, but he didn't hear anything.

Are you sure that they're polies? If they say FZ they're not.

Yup. Sacon FZ caps are appearing with no vent stamps lately.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

I was wrong about them being Sacon. They're Elite/Chinsan, RP series for the CPU regulator, UP series for the PCI-E and memory regulators.
