Re: Need help on this lenovon Power supply
Well, I cannot say it is legit or no. In my country, if it is OEM it only could be sold with a machine, or at least a piece of hardware ( HD or motherboard ) .
A lenovo original cd would correctly install the windows version, the hardware drivers and a bunch of companion software . It would let you specify the name you want .
If you use a "normal" installation cd, it will ask you for the name you want to give it, and let you specify the passwords.
But then you would also need to find the correct hardware drivers for the other windows version. Sometimes, they are not disponible in the maker´s homepage ) . Then it can cause some problems until you find the right one ( or, sometimes, a specific piece of hardware won´t function in XP ( camera, sound or wireless, for example ) ) .
And, as prices go, it would probably be cheaper to order the disk from Lenovo also.Leave a comment:

Re: Need help on this lenovon Power supply
Hi rogfanther:I would do that but i think the original windows installed from factory was Windows 7,it's what i see on the Box sticker, and the people that owned the PC did install the win XP that's what i see now Win XP logo when it asks for Name and Password,i wound mind to get a Win Xp if i can get a cheap one like the one i showed in the previous post if i know that it is legit with the licence, and it wont ask me for passwords or name from the previous owner of the PC like it's doing now. Thanks in advanceLeave a comment:

Re: Need help on this lenovon Power supply
I think you can buy restore cd´s from Lenovo . Then you will not have to search for the hardware driversLeave a comment:

Re: Need help on this lenovon Power supply
There's no BIOS startup or HDD password as you've gotten as far as the Windows login.
There does appear to be a BIOS admin password though, but that can wait for later, unless it's not letting you boot to one of the password-changing utilities recommended above. In that case try clearing the CMOS battery.
(I don't recommend "inheriting" a Windows installation from someone else, better to just format and reinstall. This is something you can do yourself.)
hi bro;aprciate you input;i took too long to answer cause i put the pc to the side /since i could not boot up,but i never throught the towel always give it a few tries before giving up,so i gave it another try,and i was able to take it to where it was before the windows log in name and pasword.
now i think i'm going to buy a win xp cd to a clean install and want to know if this oem winxp cd in the link bellow is any good for my install or is no good for what i need apreciate your input.

Re: Need help on this lenovon Power supply
chntpw ( you can download a bootable iso with it , and it is present also in "Hiren´s boot cd" alog with other tools ) is easier because one doesn´t need previous access to files in the "victim" computer. With ophcrack I believe one would need to copy the registry files to other machine , or not ?
Also, I did reply, and only later realized that I don´t know if we are allowed to discuss this kind of utility in the forums.... so, if I should not have posted about it, I beg the forum´s pardon.
As long as no malicious intent is intended, I assume it is OK to talk about this. Any computer which you have physical access to is essentially doomed - unless it is encrypted (but even then, you could just format and lose data.)Leave a comment:

Re: Need help on this lenovon Power supply
There could be a jumper for resetting the cmos. Normally around the battery, but it could be other places.
But you didn´t answer : can the machine boot from a cd ? If yes, try booting and installing a linux distro so the computer will be usable.Leave a comment:

Hi guys,After so much trying to start up and restarting now it doesn't go to the win log in password anymore, send pic where it goes and get stuck there no matter what i do.I guess this has to do with hard drive security that's what it's asking now.Leave a comment:

Re: Need help on this lenovon Power supply
Just use chntpw as rogfanther suggests, or ophcrack. (Thanks for the hint rog - I have needed a program like that for some time so will look into it when I need it next.) Winlogon replacement would require logging in via say a Linux live CD which is a lot of bother when the two other programs make it easier, also it means you won't get a logon prompt...Leave a comment:

Re: Need help on this lenovon Power supply
try with user "Administrator" and leaving the password field blank.
Or download chntpw, burn a cd and change that password.Leave a comment:

Or use "ophcrack" - very effective at getting the password. Or, even better, replace winlogin.exe with something that does nothing...Leave a comment:

Can you post a screenprint pic of the password required screen so we know exactly which one we are talking about.Leave a comment:

If the OS installation is corrupted, you could just format and install some linux distribution in it.Leave a comment:

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by sam_sam_samI have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump
One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy... -
by sam_sam_samI have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails
I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time... -
by JimBanvilleThe sub developed a constant popping every couple seconds from woofer and power LED flickering with nothing but wall AC connected. Connecting an audio cable didn't change anything. It doesn't play but a second or two of audio in between the pops.
Opened it up and discovered the power supply is making a faint clicking or ticking sound.
I measured the amp's output to the woofer and it pulses up to 50mv DC to be driver. The pulses coincide with the power supply ticking/clicking.
I measured the power supply output going to the amp board and it too has this pulsing. Voltage cycles...-

by Gust zhangI have a 15 - inch Retina MacBook Pro from the mid - 2014 model. Here is the link: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...light=820-3662 . The battery broke some time ago. After I removed the battery and plugged in the original power adapter, the MBP could boot up normally. However, when I checked with IntelPowerGadget, I found that the CPU speed was limited to 0.8 GHz, and it ran very slowly. Later, I found a solution on GitHub. There is an open - source project called cputune that can set the CPU running speed. So I can now run the MBP at full speed. But another problem...
