LOL.... That's caulk. It's meant to dampen the vibration of the components on the PCB. No worries. The more, the better (unless it insulates heat, of course.)
Rest in peace BFG. You were... a job...

big brown cap -> that is probably the beauty Chemicon KMM caps we use to see inside Supermicro PSUs.

i'll look into that coming review.

        Update:

        Initial impressions:

Well, this is a server PSU after all, so I'm not surprised by the lack of bling! However, the heatsink looks really flimsy, just a couple of pieces of Aluminum each. The redundant fan feature is nice and there is an alarm which goes off if a fan fails. Caps are Kemicon (Although the pic isn't clear, I can see a KMM on the big storage Caps). Other smaller caps are Taicon. It isn't really clear because there is some kind of a goo covering the names. It's hard to believe that this is a 650W unit because it is so light. Let us see how this holds up.

More images to follow when I get a better digital camera. This camera is a $25 Oregon Scientific piece of garbage. I'll take better pics tomorrow morning and then send it away to JonnyGURU

Re: Please help me find a vendor.

Finally, the unit is on its way to be toasted. I hope these will handle an x1800xl CF setup.

Can somebody host a video I made of this PSU? Since I don't have access tto a good digi-cam, this was the next best option.

Where to find a very small fpc connector 0.3mm between 2 pins ?
            by corrize
Hello, I search this connector (oxydated).
It's a fpc zif low profile connector. It come from camera sensor, it is very small : 0.3mm between 2 pins.
I ordered 2 from Aliexpress called « 0.3mm pitch » but one was 0.5mm between 2 pins and the other 0.6mm. In fact « 0.3mm pitch » seams to be the pad width and not the distance between 2 pins.
I can't find it. The other websites like mouser dont show the datasheet, and I can't check if it is 0.3mm between 2 pins ?

Do you know how to find this connector please ? What is the exact name for find it ?

Sentey ATX PSU - ERP650-PS - Trying to find out the right Standby IC
            by temyth
Greetings! I have this ERP650-PS atx power supply, it is a relatively simple psu, the primary has a driver IC that controls the two main mosfets (two 20n60S5), together with a Classic Standby circuit with a PWM IC (not a FET like the VIper22A) , relatively similar to the SDC606P.

The whole point is that I got this power supply years ago when I had no knowledge, apparently the PWM IC was burned because someone turned the power supply on with the switch at 110v in a 220v network (classic error). Important detail: the power supply at the time came without the primary capacitors.
