          Yup, unfortunately.

If I had the option between:
          a. getting (and being able to keep for free) a review sample of something under the condition I score it well.
          b. not getting the review sample

I would choose b for sure!

            I agree with the mark.

Caps aside, the power supply is very good for the money, certainly better than the half bridge designs we still get here (like the Premier power supplies).

Tight regulation, good efficient design (83% efficiency), bridge rectifier, good pcb with actual holes (routed out) for protection, few cables near the secondary caps so they may actually get some air from the fan on them...

I didn´t find the price for it. Have you found it somewhere ? How much does it cost ? Considering the site owner justifiy himself saying it is a budget PSU, it shouldn´t cost that much.

The AK500 was available in retail in 09/2011 at 50k won which was about 45$
This one shouldn't be more than 10$ more expensive and for a modular design, that's a good deal.

For about U$$ 50, even here in Brazil one could find something better. And at that price, it cannot be considered "budget", as the site owner says to defend himself.

That thing has terrible ripple. I wouldn't trust that thing with my desktop, let alone my server.

I understand that budget users don't want to pay much. But using craps is a TERRIBLE way to cut costs, and TBH I think it should be illegal to use crap caps. WHO cares about saving 50 cents on the caps when the potential consequences are the destruction of everything else in the system???

BTW: For anyone who is reading this and wondered what the link between Fuhjyyu and Jun Fu is, here's the file I posted earlier:

BASH Subwoofer Amp No Sound, Power Ok (Atlantic Technology 642eSB)
                            by nobbnobb1
                            Hello,

I have a really nice Atlantic Technology 642eSB subwoofer that I would love to get working. The problem is that the power appears ok (LED light is on), but there is no sound. I don't believe it to be the audio input board or anything wrong with the power as when in standby mode (LED = red), I can play a source and the LED turns green suggesting the input is being detected ok.

The amplifier is a common BASH design, my interpretation of the layout based on Picture #1:
                            - Top most hanging board is the audio input section. Note I accidentally broke the crossover...

A noob needs help for Apple Macbook Air M1 2020 A2337 - logic board short circuit
                            by Guest
                            Hello all!

Recently I've got a broken Macbook Air M1 2020 A2337 of eBay with a broken screen and not turning on issue.

After some tinkering I've found C5201 capacitor to be blown. This is where I hit a wall since I am a total noob in this area and have no idea what else to look for. C5201 is on one line with 3 more capacitors which visually seem ok, but beep on continuity mode and also both sides of all capacitors beep when tested with ground from the board. This to me sounds like a short, but I am not able to find what component is before the capacitors to test it....

                            Help a noob! Wson8 Pogo/Needle Adapters to read/Write
                            by Doesronnieevenlift
                            Hi all,

I had recently tried to reflash the bios on a dell latittude that has a Wson8 Chip however to no avail.

My question is, Has anyone had much success using the Pogo/Needle adapters to read and write bios without removing the chip from the main board?

I seem to struggling with the solder process wofh my reflow station and currently have 4 machines waiting for a bios mod/reflash.

For context I have just ordered a EZP2019 SPI flash so this is what I would be using alongside the Pogo Adapter.

Apologies if this is the wrong subcategory....

                            The CH341A doesn't read anything, but maybe that's because I'm a noob :D
                            by Jérémy Vanbaelinghem
                            Hello,

I'm desperately trying to get my CH341A to work, but it seems that all my attempts have failed. Despite everything, I want to check that it works, the aim being to read at least one chip and “screenshot” the configuration for me to use as a reference.

Here are the steps (software part):
                            - I'm running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (10.0 build 26100)
                            - Drivers are installed (no error messages) and there are no problems in the Device Manager.
                            - Set the language to English (to avoid the CH341A's basic software bug)
                            - Does not work on AsProgrammer...

                            Macbook Air A1304 noob question
                            by dobrykamil
                            Hi

I'm working on a bare 820-2375-A board and I'm still noob if it comes to mac logic boards repair, but slowly getting there.
Board doesn't power up when magsafe is connected, green light on the charger, all G3H and S5 rails are present. I does turns on when I bridge SMC_ONOFF_L pads. Is this normal behaviour for boards from 2008/2009?

                            Thanks in advance.
