    Antec True Power Recap

Hello, I have a Antec True Power 430W PSU that is full of Fuhjyyu. All the caps including the 200v 470uF are this make.

Judging by what I have read on here is, to replace them all including the very small ones.

What would be a good replacement? Panny FC's, Ruby ZL's. I see some are just general purpose so what could I use instead say FC's or ZL's?

What would be a good replacement for the 200v 470uF.

    Thankyou

First add ESR and/or Ripple to your little chart there so you know what specs you need to match or beat.
    Replacement caps should have:
    - Ripple the same or more.
    - ESR the same or less.

[Their datasheets would be easier if their website wasn't as bad as their caps.]

    TN = TNR
    TM = TMR
The "R" is some kind of marketing nonsense.

    http://www.fuhjyyu.com.tw/pro_tn-1.htm
    http://www.fuhjyyu.com.tw/pro_tn-2.htm
TN are GP caps and shouldn't be used where they often are in PSUs to start with, yet sleazy PSU companies do it frequently. GP caps won't have ESR listed. Have to go by the Ripple rating but use low ESR caps. If they are 470uF or over they are probably OP filters and I'd use at least ZL. Under 470uF FC are probably okay. BUT, check the Ripple. Don't use one with less Ripple than original cap. [Caps with excessive Ripple applied will overheat and degrade in a kind of runaway breakdown.]

    http://www.fuhjyyu.com.tw/pro_tm-2.htm
    http://www.fuhjyyu.com.tw/pro_tm-3.htm
    http://www.fuhjyyu.com.tw/pro_tm-4.htm
These are actually low ESR caps and will have both ESR and Ripple listed.

    http://www.fuhjyyu.com.tw/pro_lh-1.htm
    http://www.fuhjyyu.com.tw/pro_lh-2.htm
    http://www.fuhjyyu.com.tw/pro_lh-3.htm
The LH are the input caps. They are GP caps. All they do is smooth the output from the first rectifier which is low frequency [2x line frequency]. This is why their Ripple is stated at 120Hz vice 1000kHz. They don't 'work that hard' and rarely fail so replacing them is not mandatory unless they look to be having problems.

These PSUs use some screwed up cap sizes so for some caps perfect replacements don't exist. [And some of Fuhjyyu's specs appear to be bunk.]

The 16v 3300uF 10mm are very hard to find replacements for.
There are few options for those.
You can use Samxon RS from here https://www.badcaps.net/pages.php?vid=24 or from the member named Big Pope who sells them out of Hong Kong.
Those particular RS are a custom ordered size made specifically for PSUs.

Same-same with the 10v 3300uF 10mm but 6.3v caps [with appropriate ESR and Ripple] will work for them and that gives you more options.

    I use RS for both the 10v & 16v x 10mm 3300uF [and 4700uF] Fuhjyyu caps.

      Re: Antec True Power Recap

Ok I will add esr and ripple to my table. It will help me find the right replacement caps.

Yep there site is not the best.

Well I was not planning on changing the big caps but after reading about how bad fu are and seeing another member with leaking ones, may as well change them now?

I will be pm'ing BP to get some prices.

I remember reading here somewhere about the trouble getting 10mm caps in the voltage that were in the psu.

Noted typo in my last post...
[This] ".... Ripple is stated at 120Hz vice 1000kHz."
[Should say] ".... Ripple is stated at 120Hz vice 100kHz."
        .
100kHz is the standard frequency used for low ESR caps.

          Re: Antec True Power Recap

My True 430 1.0 purchased in October, 2003, IIRC, has more Capxon than Fuhjyyu! I saw only 3 Fuhjyyus and only 2 2200 uFs.

There's at least 4 brown Capxons and all caps in the PSU look fine and no signs of the PSU going on the fritz. Hooray!

Makes me think they're maybe better than the 2004s.

I also have another Antec that's in a Pentium III 850 from what appears to be 2000 that also is visibly OK and shows zero signs of failure.

            Re: Antec True Power Recap

I had a brand new Antec True Power II 550 bloat it's Fuhjyyu's on the shelf before it was ever installed in anything.
There are photos of it in here somewhere but that's been several years ago now.

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair
              by momaka
Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

Seasonic B12 BC-550 – barely 2 years old and with BAD CAPS already!
              by momaka
I know I've been a little scarce lately (like the last 2-3 years), but I'm still here and still doing my thing with fixing PSUs.

For today's considerations, I have a Seasonic B12 BC-550 [A551bcafh] 550 Watt ATX power supply for you (click on links for full size images).

It's a modern ATX unit with fixed (non-modular) cables and an 80-plus bronze certificate. Here's the label:

              Heathkit IO-4205 Power Supply Caps
              by eryjus
              Hello,

First, I am a complete noob with high voltage stuff. I'm learning, but I need help by someone looking over my shoulder.

I recently came into posession of a Heathkit IO-4205 5MHz Dual Trace Oscilloscope. The documentation is copyright 1978. I'm told it works.

I opened it up to check the caps before I applied power, and found the following black caps and wanted to know what they were. They are on the power supply board. I was able to read the name and model and came up with, "Nytronics 162J-1, 0.1uF, 20% tolerance, 2000VDC."

              Picking caps for Antec SU-380
              by ajdrenter
In my search for a proper 5v heavy ATX power supply, I selected an old Antec SU-380 that I've had in storage for a long time. Opening the power supply reveals a couple bulged capacitors. I removed all the caps and made a map for myself. I found the datasheet for the PCE TUR series in this thread:
              https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14159
It says these are general purpose, so I assume I can replace them with any general purpose capacitors, but I don't really know anything about power supply circuits or reading capacitor datasheets. Despite this, I've been shopping for replacements:...

Identifying caps on an old Zoom 9000
              by Paxman_Swede
              Hello!

I have two projects on my work bench. One is a friends dead JBL Xtreme speaker with a blown voltage regulator and corresponding bulged and shorted cap. That cap has clear markings so I know what replacement I need for it.

The other project however is a whole different deal. It's a Zoom 9000 guitar effect from the 90th that has developed a devil hound howl when there is no input from the guitar. I'm guessing caps problem. So, since I don't really use this effect anymore I thought it would be a perfect project to learn on.

I have studied the board and...
