    ATP-1655 mosfet equivalents

    I have one of he above power supplies from an ASUS Terminator PC.

    A Mitsubishi FS7KM mosfet has popped in it - I suspect either due to conductive glue syndrome or because of the bad Teapo in it.

    I've scraped the remaining brown glue away.

    On hand, I have a 2SK2843 which seems to exceed the specifications of the FS7KM, it does have a lower RDS ON though. Will it work?

    At my disposal I also have: STPS20100CT or FCF10A60.

      I am not familiar with this particular power supply. Some pictures would help.

      The STPS20100CT and FCF10A60 are dual rectifiers, so they will definitely not substitute for the FS7KM. The 2SK2843 might work - might not. Is the FS7LM FET that blew in the 5vsb circuit or is it the main switching transistor, or perhaps one of two main switching transistors. Need more information please.

          The 5VSB purple wire is over the other side of the board near the 3 Nichion caps, so I'd guess it's not part of that circuit.

          Seeing as it's next to the primary capacitors and a 2.2uf 50v cap, I would say it's in the primary section.

              I just fixed this.

              I took the suspicious FS7KM out and examined it - it wasn't damaged, it was just well cooked glue. Scraped the glue off and it tested fine. Put it back in - still no go.

              I dug around scraping the glue off of the rest of the board and found a lone mosfet I'd missed earlier, hiding under the 5v wires. It was all covered i brown glue.
              Took it out, cleaned off the crusty glue and corrosion - put it back in and it's working

                  I tried to use this method:

                  Testing an N-channel MOSFET:

                  Step 1: Discharge the Gate (turn off the MOSFET)
                  Place the black probe (COM) on the Source (S) and the red probe on the Drain (D). The multimeter should show no continuity (high resistance or "OL" – open line).
                  Then, touch the black probe to the Source (S) and the red probe to the Gate (G). This discharges any stored charge in the Gate, turning the MOSFET off.

                  Hello everyone, I recently found this badcaps site and super Learn Electronics Repair youtube channel. And I wanted to learn how to troubleshoot power supplies and VGA cards and how to practice soldering, since I already have a properly defective piece of them. I am currently trying to solve two problems:

                  I have a Gigabyte GV-RX460WF2OC-4GD type card. I managed to find the faulty MOSfet (AON6414A) on it, which I replaced. The card starts up, but after about half a minute, the MOSfet in the same position will be shorted again. Is it possible that the PWM controller driving the MOSfet...

                  HP 15-fc0007ca Charger Cycling On/Off with Hot MOSFET – Need Component Info

                  Hello,
                  I have an HP 15-fc0007ca that works normally, but when I plug in the charger while the laptop is powered on, the charging cycles on and off repeatedly—it starts charging, stops, then starts again.

                  Using a thermal camera, I identified a MOSFET that is overheating, along with a small 2R2 resistor next to it that gets even hotter than the MOSFET.

                  I also hear a “zpzpzpzp” type noise, but the noise is not coming from the same area as the hot MOSFET. I will include a photo with the exact spot where the noise is coming from highlighted.

                  Help identifying mosfet on Razer Blade RZ09 (CH570_MB_NT)

                  I have a Razer laptop (RZ09 MB# CH570_MB_NT) that has a shorted mosfet marked BND M03 E067 that I'm unable to find anywhere online. Does anyone either know what the part number is for this mosfet or have a schematic I can find it in?

                  Backstory on the whole thing the laptop was plugged into a lamp at a hotel. The lamp got unplugged while it was charging and now the system won't power on anymore. I found the caps around this mosfet shorted and when I injected voltage into the caps the mosfet got hot and my bench psu was pulling 5A. Pretty sure this is all that's wrong with the laptop...

                  Asus X712EA 3 volts after the first mosfet

                  Hey guys,

                  i have a asus motherboard here and as the title says after the first mosfet (in the picture) there is nothing more than 3.15v.
                  I injected 19v and max. 1 amp at the charging port and there is not voltage drop or smth. It's just taking 19v and 1 milliamp.
                  Then i tried to inject 19v and max 1amp after the current sensor and there it first takes 19v and 4 milliamps and after 2 seconds it is taking nothing (no current).
                  I measured on the coils on board everything seems fine. Also the main power rail is not shorted (infinite resistance).
                  Now i thought something...
