    Ok, over a year later, time for some ESR readings on the OST populated Seasonic...

    It was a but difficult to measure (i.e. to find all caps)

    But the ones I did find where very good, every one was in the 0.08 ohm ESR range...

    The big Hitachi bulk cap was 0.25 ohm ESR...

    And here is a picture of the underside since I never deassembled it this far before...



    Note though that this PSU is in an ideal enviroment; I have the fan reversed. And the PSU sits upside down in my case, so it sucks in cool air and blows it straight out... See this post for a picture of what I mean

      wowee look at all the smt components. i dont recall ever seeing anything on the back of a psu pcb......guess the next one i get will be a seasonic.....

        The cheap SS400FS lis looking similar. Those SMD components save the space needed for a good layout.
        But i haven`t seen this from the other vendors, even from FSP etc.

          If you look through the PSU pic thread you will notice some older powersupplies mainly from Compaq PPro server with SMD components on the underside of the PCB... (posts by me that is..)
