Well shiit, I might have esd shorted the new board while testing the resistors on the bottom, don't even have standby now just millivolts when checking, I did change out the filter cap, I'll recheck it, I know before there was 166 voltage at the filter cap and diode and a solid 6.5 standby.

Ok, I must have had a bad connection, I hooked the new board back up with all the screws in and have steady standby, the filter cap doesn't sit sideways so I got the voltage measured from HS803 and DP801, CP809 filter cap is 166 and steady, CS802 is 12-15v and fluctuating, CS803 is .2-.8millivolts fluctuating, DS801 fluctuates from o volts to 175 volts, DS802 is 12-15v fluctuating. All measured using HS803 for ground. Wonder if that points to a certain cap that might be bad or maybe ICM802?

Not sure, but something is wrong there, since you only get like 5v on the other board. So either it’s getting loaded down, or something is wrong with the transformer? I guess you can lift a few legs and see what’s going on.

I switched out CS802 22uf 50v for 47uf 50v, now DS801 is steady 175 and DS802 is steady 14, I think that one must have been bad but still getting the relay on and off every 5 seconds when mainboard hooked up.

The idea was to see why the non working board was off like only having 5v. When you test this board, you are connecting the backlights and plugging the PSU into power mains, right? What is the TV model number?

When testing new board, I tried it with just the main connected and with both main and the 3 backlight wires connected, does the clicking, the old board I have just been trying it by itself because there's no standby, wish I could remember how I made the powerboard work stand alone. Model is samsung LN-S4051D.

Thanks CapLeaker, I think you are right on, because I believe I lost my pfc from 390 or so down to 166 whenever it wouldn't work anymore, I'll try to check that pfc circuit out, I think ICP801 is the pfc chip.

Aha! Well at least you got something to go on. It may or may not be a resistor issue. It’s the last quirky thing I could come up with, if everything else looks o.k.

ICP801 is you PFC IC. Make sure you see at least 11.2V on VCC pin 7. That's the threshold.

Pin 7 has 15v and steady, when it clicks it goes to 2v then back to 15v and repeats.

I guess that makes sense when it clicks off it loses the voltage, just need to figure what's doing it, sure seems like a resistor or cap.

Checked the other 2 IC'S, pin 7, ICI804 goes from 12-14, ICS801 goes from 14-16, ok so ICP801 is the one that goes as low as 2v.

384 steady, clicks goes to 369, click back to 384 repeat, I touched up a couple solders and replaced a small cap CP804 1 uf 50v with 2.2uf 50v, now at least it looks like my boosted voltage is back.

Do you think the pfc is ok now or could it still be a resistor or cap in that circuit?

No, the original board that I tore out a thru hole put a stitch but the pads are shorted, that one has no standby and only 166 on the filter cap not clicking, removed a little resistor that was reading 40 ohms instead of 10k but pads still read 40 ohms, it's pretty messed up.
