Hi I have a mobility scooter charger that's dead, uve checked the main fuse and internal fuse which are fibe, the main capacitor is showing about 320v on its output but I have no idea what to check next, hopefully someone can help with the supplied pictures

Re: Mobility scooter charger dead 6240803
explain exactly what you charger is or is not doing. for example is it stone dead, are these LED lights doing anything? Etc. Is the secondary shorted because someone hooked it up backwards? Each little information counts. -

Re: Mobility scooter charger dead 6240803
There are a few fuseable resistors with a zero ohm value, rectifier diodes, fets and a few small bridge rectifiers. Check those. You got power laying on the main filter capacitor, right?
Forgot to mention, resolder all transformers and anything that has some weight to it.Last edited by CapLeaker; 04-11-2023, 06:44 AM.Comment

Re: Mobility scooter charger dead 6240803
ok, ill start with the easy option first by cleaning up and soldering, can someone maybe draw a rough path of the power going through? Should the 2 big coils be DC? Also, what's the best way to discharge the main capacitor, is it just a 1w resistor across the points? Ive just been leaving it to discharge slowly but it takes ages, thanks for all your help and info!Comment

Re: Mobility scooter charger dead 6240803
Hi, no its not cracked, I think it's just the light in the pic, it used to have leds light up but now nothing. I'm guessing it HAS to be something on the right half of the board as 300v is going to large capacitor. I have no idea what to test on it, could someone maybe draw on it where to test? I need an idiots guide 🙄Comment

can someone maybe draw on the pictures the route of the power and where I should be measuring?Comment

by BTubbs200Hello,
Dell Latitude 5420 P137G
Board: LA-K491P REV A01
I have received this laptop which was described as "does not power on or accept charge." Battery shows no sign of charging when charger is plugged in, nor does the board show any signs of life when battery is unplugged and charger is plugged in. No light from the LED at all or any other indications of activity.
Board seems to have no shorts, all power rails are fine and show high resistance.
When charger is plugged in, voltage is present in 3.3V rail but absent in others.... -
by flat-eartherThe charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.
Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.
This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.
If I let battery run out and say it has 3% Windows will... -

Hello,
I'm working on a Lenovo T460 that has been having trouble charging as of late. Its worked well since I've owned it for a few years. When I went to use it the other day it was dead and wouldn't turn on (was sitting on an Anker 65W GaN charger). After some fiddling with the charger I got it to turn on and start charging, but seemed like the charger was not working as it should (took a few plug and unplug cycles to get it to start charging).
A day later it was dead again and wouldn't boot/charge no matter what I did. No lights or anything when... -

The ISL88739 & ISL88739AHRZ are a highly versatile combo battery charger
configurable for operating as either a Hybrid Power Boost (HPB)
charger or a Narrow VDC (NVDC) charger, supporting 2-, 3-, or
4-cell batteries. Both configurations allow the battery to work with
the adapter together to supply the system load when it exceeds
the adapter capability, referred to as system Turbo mode. HPB
charger configuration reverse-boosts battery energy to the system
bus to help the adapter provide the system power in Turbo mode.
NVDC charger configuration...-
