    HP 15-ab269sa X12A

motherboard has part no: 836098-601 label

laptop dead, 21.2v on the board by PSU connector, but I can see visual discolouration on what I think are open SMD resistors.

Laptop vents, fan and CPU heatsink congested with fluff - possible overheating.

Searched high and low for the schematics and boardview files to no avail.

    Thanks for any help!

      Thanks SMDFlea

I downloaded this earlier today, the BV layout is not the same as the board I'm presented with.

This HP board appears to be designed for various 14"-17" variants with pads for graphics chips and SSD chips.

I've attached a image of the board. Perhaps there are more identifiers on the rear of the board. I was resisting dismantling further till I had more detail.

      Thanks for any guidance.

        Re: HP 15-ab269sa X12A

I've removed the board from the laptop, on the reverse it has:

        DAX12AMB6D0 Rev: D

I have searched and downloaded BV files for many hits on this board number and they all appear the same (wrong) board... not the one in my hands.

Has the manufacturer re-used the part numbers? Or am I missing something really obvious ;-)

There are 2 different boardviews available,X12A-MB-6L-C and X12A-MB-6L-D .The boardview you have is good enough. If you`re using openboardview you might have to mirror the boardview and rotate it to get it showing properly.

            Wow... like a 90's 3D picture of a dolphin :-)

Up to now the BV files I've used, the perimeter reflected the board shape in reality - so I just saw a rectangular ish board that looked wrong.

Now to grab the meter and scope...

Really appreciate your help, learning stuff is awesome...

Hisense H58AE6100UK - discolouration and slow load on right side of display
              by djmka
              Hello.
I have a Hisense 58" 4K television which has a strange issue whereby the right half of the screen takes slightly longer to load an image than the left. It also has discolouration and horizontal blocks. I've attached images of the colour problem and blocking but do not know how to attach a video of the lagging. Can anyone please advise me how to upload a video? Many thanks...

HP Notebook With Strange Defect Does Not Turn On
              by dclass-pro
Hi Guys, I have a HP DAX12AMB6D0 REV.D with a strange defect, that is on the 2nd mosfet on the power supply, the gate voltage does not reach 25V but pulses... if I try to touch some capacitors with my fingers, the voltage on the gate reaches 25V and the notebook turns on.
I have already tried to change the charging connector, PU1 and PQ20 but I have not obtained any result, the problem still persists.
Here are the voltages that I find ON PU1:
              Pin 1 - Pulses between 2 and 3v
              Pin 2 - Pulses between 2 and 3v
              Pin 3 - Pulses between 2 and 3v
              Pin 4 - Pulses between...

              Samsung R530 Bremen motherboard cooling
              by Ace Perception
              Hi,
I'm wondering if anybody out there has much knowledge of Samsung Bremen motherboards.
I've got a Samsung R530 which is about 10 years old, over the last 12 months it developed a worsening problem where when asked to do much work it would shut itself down. I had a good idea this was due to overheating which was confirmed by a temperature monitor programme which showed little balls of fire next to the various internal temperature readings. I could also prevent it shutting down if I placed a huge fan running at full speed in front of its air intake!
So I went in pursuit of...

Xigmatek 500W ATX PSU went POP and stopped working
              by dicky96
This ATX PSU is off a customers computer. Originally it had a faulty motherboard GA-X58-USB3 that had a VRM fault. I fixed that and returned it working, but when he plugged it in something went 'pop' and it went dead.

I have the PC working again using my test ATX PSU so I decided to look at his PSU

              Its a Xigmatek 500W ATX

When I opened it up the whole thing was full of dust, dirt and fluff.

The in-circuit fuse on the 220V input has blown

I cleaned it all out, then removed the heatsink with the Output MOSFETS that drive...

Samsung plasma - flashing standby light
              by 7ony
The TV is a 2013 Samsung plasma, model # PN60F5300AFXZA.

Snagged it up in non-working condition a couple years ago. Previous owner said that sometimes he could get it to come on after repeated tries but other than that he couldn't get it to turn on.

Personally I haven't been able to get it to turn on at all. The standby light comes on solid when plugged in, but pressing the power button results in the standby light flashing once every 4 or so seconds. No "click" noises, no light from the panel at all. Just the flashing standby light.

              No visible...
