According to Ebay, the Elitebook 6560B is the same

Made a mistake, it is not similar to Elitebook but to Probook 6560B

i hate to necro a dead thread, but does anyone know if theres a schematic for this board available anywhere? its my first crack at board diagnostics and repair, so i kinda need all the help i can get with this. i found asc files apparently containing details on the 8560w, but as far as i can see thats a different board.

Have one for an 8540P that says for 8540W as well?? I don't know HP off the top of my head, not sure if it falls within the same family. Got any board model info? The 8540P/8540W is an LA-4951P.

truth be told i wouldnt even know where to look for that, im a bit of a beginner im afraid. i imagine with the 8540* being a 1st gen core chip laptop it might have a different board to this one? im not sure though.

Quite possible the board model is printed right on the board. Let's start with any identifying information on the board. The HP part/spare number and then anything else that looks like model information. Some manufacturers will also cover model information with stickers or black plastic film, which is sometimes found in the ram slot area.

ok, ive looked into it a bit more today, and its not the same board layout as the workstation model, or the 14" model, so none of those will help

im going to look into it tonight, its probably going to take me a bit to carefully get at the board proper, because the damn thing apparently needs to be stripped completely for you to get access to it
