Re: ME Region Cleaning for Hp 14-dq0017ca DA0PABMB6E0 REV: E
Rather than cleaning the ME firmware its much easier with this one to use a virgin bios and coy your DMI info to it.Cleaning the ME doesn`t always fix the bios if there is some other corruption, and if it isn`t working with a virgin bios (try older versions as well) then you can say for certain that the problem is somewhere else.If you learn how to extract and copy the DMI yourself you can have the job done in less than 2 minutes, give it a try at least and if you can`t do it or find it hard its no problem, just say so and someone will fix it for you.
Download and run the bios update exe from hp support, choose save to location. There are 4 different bios, only 2 of them are 8MB so ignore the others. Use a hexadecimal editor and do a tex search for 0864 ,as there`s 0864A and 0864D and you don`t know which one to choose. Yours is 0864D .
Copy the DMI using the following off-sets.
DMI 747000 - 7480FF
WK 76D000 (length 40)

Thank you so much SMDFlea., Does this method work for all Hp BIOS or it's work from model to model? I did matched the BID number with the orginal Bin file so I knew that mine was 0864D. Because when I programmed the 0864D onto the chip, the notebook turned on, but in ON position the board was not taking any amps & only the LEDs were solid WHITE & no Activity. So let me understand once for all., I will copy the DMI 747000 - 7480FF (length 40) from the older BIOS & paste this to the newer one BIN file??? & what is this "WK 76D000" ??? SMDFlea. really appreciate your help.Comment

It works to extract all the latest bios update versions. If its an Insyde bios then the DMI can be copied, you just have to find out where the offsets are.Thank you so much SMDFlea., Does this method work for all Hp BIOS or it's work from model to model? "WK 76D000" is the Windows Key, 76D000 is the start offset, i didn`t post the end offset but instead posted the file length (length 40) .
747000 - 7480FF is the DMI area ,the file length is much longer. The DMI area contains the serial number, model number and feature byte.Comment

by mkdjDear all,
I have a ASUS ZenBook UX480F with the following symptoms:
I suspect it is a BIOS issue. So I decided to try to clean the ME region. I followed the guide on win-raid, and I believe I have done everything correctly. My problem is: when I open the outimage.bin in ME Analyzer, it says that it is Extracted, and not Region, Extracted as it should be. Is it normal, or did I do something not correctly? This is my first experience editing BIOS files.
I would appreciate if someone could take time to explain the issue, so that I can learn. But I would...-

by loopsterHello guys,
could I please get some help cleaning the ME region of the attached Zbook 17 G1 bios dump (CH341a, neoprogrammer, chip-desoldered, dumped twice, identical checksum)?
Symptoms, delayed BIOS post (ca. 45 secs.) keyboard not working, touchpad not working, booting linux live, console says "Management engine not configured".
I tried following the ME firmware cleaning guide, but whatever Flash Image Tool version I try, I get the same error:
Error 10: Failed to open with processed commands.
Unable to open file: C:\Users\Elitebook...1 Photo-
