Here's another dump, not from Vinafix but I believe from the same website that I found the schematic and boardview from. I put up another request on Vinafix to see if I can get any other dumps.

I had posted on Vinafix about a week ago, I tried the BIOS ThienBui sent me but it didn't work. Maybe it needed a clear ME?

Unsurprisingly it did need the ME cleaning.

Thank you for this. I tried both repaired TB FW and zeroed TB FW but unfortunately it wasn't enough to convince the board to turn on.

There's a third EEPROM chip on the board just below the left hand side fan and just above the BIOS chip. This third EEPROM is a Winbond W25Q80EW 1.8v. I stuck a 1.8v adapter on the programmer and read the chip, it's zero filled but not by me. Not sure what that one does, my guess was maybe gpu? This chip does not get power when I press the power on button, whereas the MXIC chips both do get power.

Yesterday I pulled some plastic film that was covering a portion of the motherboard on it's backside. I noticed today in a picture that there was damage to a chip beneath the board covered by that plastic. Not sure how bad the damage is or if it would prevent the computer from working.

I think at this point, considering how much time I've spent trying to fix this that it may not be worth further investigating. I don't know if this continues to be a BIOS chip issue, a Thunderbolt 3 chip issue, an embedded controller issue, or this Winbond chip issue.

If I was able to get life from the board, I would consider working on this further.

Thank you for all of your help!

I have another post up on Win-Raid forum as a last-ditch attempt for a fix. If anything changes, I'll post back here.

Another observation, I just noticed today that the bios.bin I supplied earlier from post #21 is for a Thinkpad P1 Gen 2 18809-1 with a Winbond bios chip W25Q256FV. I have a MXIC 25L25673G bios chip. The N2OET36W ME_CLEAN is based on that bios backup from the W25Q256FV. I think this explains why the motherboard remains 'dead' as the EC information is stored in the BIOS firmware and I have been unable to find a compatible binary dump.

If anyone finds a X1 Extreme Gen 2 bios dump from a MXIC 25L25673G bios chip found on the 18809-2 LPM-2 motherboard, please send it my way

Hey thank you for trying! I wasn't able to get this to work, but there may be a malfunction with the EC on my motherboard so it's not clear to me that there is anything wrong with this BIOS file you've uploaded.

                        CPU: Xeon E-2276M

It worked perfectly, everything had already been updated for more than a week, I had a 1TB SSD, I wanted to add another 1TB SSD, I got it perfectly, the only thing I noticed was that it no longer had audio and I only disabled the UEFI and the security boots

I turned it off and changed the position of the SSD, and it simply didn't turn on again, only the LED stays on and that's all it does.

I have already tried all the BIN files here and none of them worked, the LED doesn't even turn on, it doesn't respond at all.

I put the original BIN back in and it does the same thing again, just turning on the LED.

                          Hey guys.
There's a Thinkpad X1 Extreme 2nd on the bench, asking for a supervisor password... any solution? I tried other dumps from this topic, but the machine doesn't turn on.

in attachments original dumps ( working dumps but ask por password )
