I need a solid BIOS. The device does not open. There is a high-pitched sound with its own BIOS. Thanks in advance.

                  hi,

I have following laptop with BIOS locked with password:

                  Board Number: GE4B0/GE5B0 NM-D011 rev 1.0
                  Serial Number: PF-2JKBXT
                  Type Number: 20TA-000DUK

I've used T48 to read bios chips but I could not find the W25R256JVWQ in the list, so I've read content as W25R256JV, hope is no issue

                  Thanks in advance

                    Hi everyone!
I left my Lenovo E15 Gen 2 plugged into an AC charger overnight, updating Windows. When I picked it up for work the next morning, it turned out it had stopped working via AC power. It can't charge via the charger (it only runs on battery power). I've seen the same thing happen to a colleague here: the AC power doesn't work (when I plug in the charger, the power button blinks several times but doesn't actually work on AC power), and the battery is low (when it runs out, I won't be able to turn on the PC unless I plug in another, equally charged battery). I thought it might be a problem with the updates overnight or a problem with the BIOS chip. It also has a supervisor password. I'm sending you the image of the readings made on my WINDBOND 25R256JVED BIOS chip, as well as all the data on my PC. In case, with any luck, it's a BIOS problem and one of you can fix it, I'd be very grateful!

Thank you very much for writing to me, Hoaca388. I appreciate your time and trouble! You're the best.
I'll share the tests I performed with the image you provided:
When I turned on the PC, the following message appeared on the screen:
-Self-healing BIOS Backup Progressing...100% (when the progress reached 100%). The PC restarted and displayed the following:
                        0271: Check date and time
0183: Bad CRC on security settings in EFI variable
And then I pressed F1 to enter setup.
When I pressed F1, it next asked me for the supervisor password, and I tried 0000, 1234, and 1111, but it didn't work. I couldn't enter the BIOS setup.
It didn't work for me with the AC charger either, but I'm starting to suspect it's more of an electronic issue than a BIOS issue. I think something must have gone wrong on the motherboard, but I still have the battery to test if you'd like to send me any more pictures.
                        Thanks again!!!

The bios password is not in the bios file but in SIO.

Okay, I understand what you're trying to tell me is that the BIOS supervisor password isn't in the dump/image of the 25R256JV BIOS chip, but is stored on the ITE/NUVOTON/LENOVO chip on the bottom of the motherboard. Is that correct? Because if so, there's something wrong with me. Let me tell you:
Flashing the image you provided in the post, it asks for the BIOS password, as I told you, and I haven't been able to enter the BIOS setup because none of the ones I've set work (luckily, I've been able to find the password I had set), but I set it, and it still doesn't work.
So I re-flashed the original BIOS image (25R256JV), which I read about at the beginning, and everything works correctly, but with the supervisor password, as it was at the beginning (since I was able to find the password I had set), I entered it and was able to enter the BIOS setup and make adjustments... and everything is fine!

                                So, my question is:
Why didn't my real password work on the image you provided? If it's actually saved on another chip, like an ITE chip, shouldn't any BIOS dump/image work with the password set on the device itself, saved on that chip?
I mean, I write the image/dump you provided with a password. Shouldn't it work if I enter my password saved on the device when it asks for the supervisor password? In other words, shouldn't my password work with both my original dump/read and the dump/read you provided? Or shouldn't your dump/read that you provided work with a password that you know works with that image/dump?
I hope you can answer my question as clearly as possible, since I'm still learning by reading your forum... reading various posts from other users... I know I still have a lot to learn and understand, and little by little, I'll be gaining knowledge with all of you...
                                Thank you very much!!!

                                  Thank you very much!!!

may be variations in LenovoMultipleKeyboardService which replaces TranslateService
I have already exchanged TranslateService and the password no longer matches afterwards.

I left my Lenovo E15 Gen 2 plugged into an AC charger overnight, updating Windows. When I picked it up for work the next morning, it turned out it had stopped working via AC power.
E15, isn't this the model that loses components?? They fall out on their own.

Wow!!...Really? I was just watching that video you showed me in the Maxpower3 link!!!
I was looking to see if I could find anything, because I just found that video today and was watching it because it's the same model (E15) and I'm sure it has the same problem. I was leaving it to do voltage and current checks for next week, so thanks so much for the info!!!
What was not very clear to me is the BIOS password, I had provided my dump / reading of bios R1EET58W (1.58), and if I'm not mistaken what you're telling me is that the version that our colleague Hoaca388 has provided me is a version R1EET64W? And you tell me to try to get a R1EET58W? Sorry but as I'm still a novice I don't quite understand what you mean, should I get a version R1EET58W from the Lenovo website? They are there in . ISO format and in . EXE format, should I download the R1EET58W version and convert it somehow to . BIN and flash it into the bios chip 25R256JVED? Because if I have not misunderstood in the previous posts. Hoaca388 told me the password was on the SIO chip, so I'm not quite sure what's going on with it. I'm a bit confused. Could you explain as much as possible what's going on with the BIOS password and BIOS versions so I can learn and understand it?
Thanks again to all of you and for your patience with me....

Lenovo-TranslateService driver serves the purpose of translating an American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) string into keyboard scan codes,
for the purposes of later hashing the keyboard scan codes and comparing them with the SVP stored in the EC.

Thanks Maxpower3, I think I more or less understood, correct me if I'm wrong but I think it all comes from having a specific password stored in the EC chip and the ideal would be to be able to read that EC chip, like the other problem I have that I have not yet been able to solve with my other computer and that I have in another post (thinkpad yoga 11e) that saves the password in the nuvoton ncpe288 EC chip, since I have tried all possible ways without success and I think that until I can read that nuvoton EC chip I will not have a solution.
