Thank you but I had no luck.

Just by flashing 8MB and 16MB .bin's after hitting the power button it lights up for about four seconds than the light turns off and lights up again and so on - but the laptop doesn't start and does not take power (meter shows 1-2W only). Before, meaning on the original corrupted BIOS after hitting the power button the laptop turned on and the power button stayed lighten up stayed that way as the computer was still on.

Question for me is because I've never done this before - do I have to flash the attached EC.bin? I've also attached photos of the MB - maybe I'm doing something wrong here.

Any ideas what to try next?

Check the schematic and see if it can be disabled via resistor straps https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...ic#post1750941
If not then try disabling ram in the bios https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...63#post3172363

I found the issue to be the Super IO chip so I ordered from Aliexpress and fitted.
The laptop seems to be working fine now however the Lenovo website could not autodetect this laptop.
I then noticed that the BIOS reported an unknown serial number and unknown model.
I have done a bios update from the Lenovo website along with a ME update however it is still unknown.
Has the Super IO chip somehow changed this detail in my BIOS?
    try this..https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=101209
