    WONDERFUL!

    PERFECT file!

It worked Recording with the CH341A (sw v1.43) and the TL866-II (sw v12.78)

Note: in "MANUFACTURING MODE ACTIVE", the ALT+F command did not work for me... I repeatedly pressed the "+" key and it disabled "Manufacturing Mode"

Note 2: I want to donate BUT, MY Paypal is deactivated (I haven't used it for years) and I went through the Activation process and I'm Waiting.

      Hello all,
I have no idea if anything can be done but thought I would through out the question at least.

I inherited a Dell that had Admin locked in BIOS.

So managed to find my way to this forum and found excellent guides on how to read the bios using a reader, edit the file to remove the password and then save the file back to the chip.
COOL, so got my self a CH341A, modded it to 3.3V and connected the tool, same as this but from other supplier
      https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm...0602261764&mt=

So I read the BIOS, save it to HDD, modded the file, wrote it back to the chip. And the computer does nothing after pushing power button.
(Yes I had power out, battery out and BIOS battery out when working inside. )
My problem is I missed the part where you are supposed to dump more than once, verify the images before starting to work on the file.

It seem to me that the file I got from my BIOS was corrupt at least partly and the file I therefore wrote back to the chip is also corrupt. Stupid rookie mistake.

Now my question is, can the computer still be saved? Could another BIOS dump be written to my chip and get the laptop working? Could a BIOS update file be used from Dell?

Please, if any of you total gurus on this forum could try to help I would appreciate it.

post merged..next time look for a thread with the name and model, motherboard model of the laptop, and post there, if you can't find it, then make a new thread..

I think I have v. 1.30.0 10 Aug 2023 version of the official Dell BIOS
at least I know it's a i7 processor and running OS from a SSD disk. I think it has 2 x 16Gb RAM

Is this enough information hoaca388? And do you know if anything can be done?
Is it possible to use another flash file with the same suffix or something? Could a update file from Dell be used? I am at the moment waiting for a hopefully better tool cable than the one I initially used that didn't quite fit the chip so I had to bend the pins fairly much to get it to connect to the pins on the chip and that wasn't so smart since the pins on the tool it self broke off I noticed after I had finished.
I have now ordered this one that seem to be a bit better built. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...-specification

If anyone could help out I would really appreciate it.

I am attaching my 2 bios files, the dump (that might be corrupt) and the fixed file that I have tried to restore back to the chip. However the computer doesn't give a beep or blink when reattching cmos battery and main battery, hooking up power supply through USB-C adapter. I have no clue if my bios dump is corrupt and that's the reason for the laptop not even showing Dell logo or what could be wrong.

                                        Hello everyone.

I have come here with a rather specific question. I was given a Dell Latitude 7420 laptop with a busted screen, and wanted to see if I could refurbish it into my daily driver. I wanted to experiment and see if a 2-in-1 display would work as the chassis of the laptop and 2-in-1 7420 looked identical. by Eradicatus
I have a problem with my Dell Latitude E5550 laptop, in particular with its display.
This laptop has been sat under my desk (unused) for quite a while and I wanted to reinstall Windows and use it for some ad-hoc testing.
However, I am struggling with the display, which is playing up.

                                        1) When the laptop is left switched off, after switching it back on the internal LCD does not work. No images are displayed at all - no DELL logo on POST, no messages, no Windows desktop. But I can hear that Windows starts up correctly, so no issues with the rest of the system - must be...

                                        Hi,

My Dell Precision T7910 died after enabling onboard SAS controller and applying RAID settings. There were no hardware changes between working and not working state, only setup (via bios -> controller settings). After applying settings and reboot PC turns on, flash leds (normally) but there's no further action, it just stays on with no graphics and no keyboard led's on. There's no Dell logo, nothing. I've tried resetting bios by jumper, replacing cpu's, replacing ram, removed/replaced cmos battery, disconnecting all drives etc. I've also dumped .bins from mobo chips SLI1 (16...
