                    I tried,
First attempt: the screen was red, blue, green, then white, and then it restarted 3 times for 3/4 seconds.
I tried to implement the original BIOS again, and it no longer starts (it restarts 3/4 times for a few seconds, the screen remains black).
I tried without the battery and the CMOS battery.

1st boot, press F2, write service tag, disable Absolute, save, restart. 2nd boot press Alt+F to exit manufacturing mode.

                      Good luck.

                        Thank you both
Now there are constant restarts, the fan is running at maximum speed, and colors appear on the screen from time to time (red, blue, green)... Does someone have an idea ?

Flash the bios again and verify what you have written to the chip. Check your soldering, put batteries back in afterwards.

Hi, can you help me please remove BIOS password.

                              Hi,
I've repeated the exercise three times, and it doesn't work. Looking at my backups with hex, I realized they weren't exactly identical (...). I think they are corrupted.
How can I recover a file? Can I try a BIOS from another PC? (Sorry for my question, I'm new here)

Can somebody advise if these BIOS dumps are correct please?

I read 3 in Asprogrammer with the correct 25rh256cxiq selected, the other I read in neoprogrammer with W25Q256FV selected.

When I compare them in a hex viewer they are all different, even the three dumped with asprogrammer, used a CH341A and WSON8 pogo.

The goal is to remove the admin password, however I don't want to even attempt it until I know these backups are good as I've already bricked my other 5420 tonight!

                                    Service tag is C4617M3

                                    Thanks in advance.

post merged..next time look for a thread with the name and model, motherboard model of the laptop, and post there, if you can't find it, then make a new thread..

The bios chip must be unsoldered from the board before writing or reading..
do not use the clip, you may have errors..if you do not have anything to unsolder it with,
solder wires between the programmer and the bios chip..

It wasn't the clip I used, I used a WSON8 Pogo, is that still no good?

Do you know if when the chip is unsoldered, can it be read with something like this?
