Dell laptops store the password in EC. However, some generators exist depending on the code suffix.
See: https://beta.bios-pw.org/ .If the website is offline try: https://web.archive.org/web/*/https://bios-pw.org/
Note: All passwords must be entered with a US QWERTY Keyboard, you can use a USB one.
    Note: The 6FF1 suffix has a bug,use your service tag with the 1F5A or BF97 suffix instead,Example: 1234ABC-BF97 .
Note: The list of examples does not include some other suffix codes that do work, such as E7A8 .
Note: If the BF97 suffix does not work try it with the E7A8 suffix instead.
Note: There is no publicly available 8FC8 generator available at the moment.
The CTRL-ENTER-ENTER keystroke after the password only applied to laptops with a suffix (xxxxxxx-8FC8 for example), until Dell also required it in some laptops using System Disable 16-Hex algorithm, on which only the Password+ENTER was needed at first and then in some models you needed the CTRL-ENTER-ENTER to properly delete the system passwords, otherwise the password would remain SET upon the automatic system reboot if just doing Password+ENTER until the proper CTRL-ENTER-ENTER keystroke was performed in certain models.
    8FC8 Patcher software: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...l-8fc8-patcher
    Thanks a lot

HI Guys, need some help with this please, its a Dell Latitude 3520, originally it had bios password lock on it.

I have had the Bios chip on and off the board about 20 times time and I am really tired of doing it.

I made a mistake with the original bios file because I read it as a 16MB Chip at 1.8V rather than 32MB chip at 3.3v, I subsequently erased and wrote to that chip, I only realized this when I was about to post on the site asking for help as to why my system is dead, I thought OK now I now what the issue I can try work with what I have now and set about trying to rebuild the file.

I had a a few of these laptops and one of them had a unlocked bios, I downloaded the unlocked bios and tried to merge it with the locked one to no avail.

All I would get is manufacturing mode, no matter how many times I entered the service tag in the bios it would not work, eventually I would press alf+f (on screen instruction to exit manufacturing mode)and to the service menu where i could enter service tag (if never entered in bios previously) , but could never get past accept/continue, it would just beep and never accept the service tag and to get out of manufacturing mode (alt+ fn+x, nothing worked), then the system would lock me out of F2 (bios) or F12 (boot options) and constantly load to this service menu until I remove the chip and re-flash, once I would re-flash chip it would reset and I could get into bios/boot menu.

I took pictures previously of the Bios Screens of both machines (prior to doing anything) and realized the one original half I did have was bios version 1.37 and one was 1.38, spent another couple of days trying to resolve that, eventually got it with all data preserved in 1.38 version, but still no joy, same behavior.

I have spent the last couple of days trying to bypass and enter the service tag via the Dell Asset utility via botting to USB and running the program from there but no joy. Cant this utility to boot via USB however I structure the files.

So basically I'm thinking let me just start from scratch, let me post the board revision number or board number and someone can help me build a file with the correct service tag and express service code. I do have the UUID and Mac addresses if required, nut not the complete original bios.

Can someone tell me if this possible, I think the need the board number, can someone tell me where its is?

If anyone has got nay ideas, please let me know

I've sent a whole week on this and feel like smashing up this board and laptop!

Cheers, your bin file worked a treat, I wish someone would make it clear you need to match your board number to the correct bin file. Would make life easier and save a lot of questions.
