Not sure why but I tried an BIOS from earlier post and it geve me this error when flashing: Verification error on address: 0x00000004, Device: 0xFF, Buffer: 0x80

THanks, I found the solution. Apprarantly WINBOND bios is protected against writting. So I follow these instructions. Maybe a rookie error:

always when you make a bios request, post the original bios of the laptop even if it is corrupted..

Hi! I got a lenovo ideapad with an nm-c811 motherboard that would turn on (fan spin, hot cpu and keyboard light up) and presumably get to the bios, but there was no image on the screen. I tried flashing and verifying the bios posted in post #6, but the same problem persisted. I have a copy of the original bios, i only made one backup before i flashed, i should have done it twice.
I don't know what DMI is or what it has to do with the bios. do i have to modify the bios before flashing it to the laptop? please let me know.

the model number for my laptop is 15are05, and the serial number is PF29PQR5. The lenovo PN for my mobo is 5b20s44358. Sorry i didn't have that info on hand for my first post, I appreciate any help.

Hello, I couldn't find a correct bios for my laptop Lenovo Ideapad 5-15ARE05 - Type 81YQ, S/N: 1S81YQ001CCKPF2B4GT0, version e7cn51ww. The laptop is running correctly but I can't get it to post. I have tried other versions of the BIOS (because I didn't find the exact one I need) and they didn't work. Only BIOS version e7cn48ww made the laptop reach Lenovo splashscreen but that's about it.
I would be very grateful for help.
