I also have the 2100: Detection error on Main SATA (M.2).
But only if there is no nvme present. When I connect a nvme everything works fine.
I shouldnt get this message when no ssd is connected so I think this maybe is also a bios issue!?
In the meantime I checked the AP with an ubiquity POE-Injector and it worked perfectly
I suspect some handshake problem between the AP and my POE-switch...
I only get 17.7 V on pin 1 when connected to the poe switch...
okay, I believe the problem is not related to the LCD circuit.
I get only miliamps on PP3V3_S2_LDO when connect the magsafe adapter. When I plug USB-C this line is 3V. When I put 3V on this line it tages 0.027 Amps but I can´t spot anything obvious with my thermal camera. U8100 is getting warm and the U5500 (CD3217)
I´ve already replaced U5500 (CD3217) but the problem is still the same.
I got this laptop with liquid damage. The LCD and webcam connector was broken and I soldered it off. Also PIN 57 PPVOUT_LCDBKLT was shorted. I removed the pads and short is gone. (See pictures).
Also UP950 was shorted and I removed it from the board. Short is now gone but part is not on the board anymore. Unfortunately I´ve no spare part at hand.
Now the board is stuck at 5V and 0.02 A. Tested on both USC-C ports. The ports looks gook with the tester and outputs (3V, 5V and 1.5V) are present. ...
Update: Soldered another CD3217. Get 19V and Laptop is coming on, charging problem is also fixed, this was caused by broken pins in the connector... ...
Current draw is 0.02A on both ports and MagSafe also. When I plug the cable it first goes up to 0.2A and than drop to 0.02A after a few seconds.
Maybe the CD3217 I´ve replaced is not good or faulty because of bad soldering. But it´s not getting hot and I get also voltages on the board (without battery connected):
