Re: Dell G5 15 5500 bios needed
I can post my old bios but I bricked it pretty bad. So, can someone post a generic BIOS for both chips (8Mb and 16Mb) I can use to flash the machine? Thanks.

Re: Dell G5 15 5500 bios needed
I have attached the BIOS I extracted from both chips. I would appreciate if someone fixed it for me. It does have 8fc8 password lock on it and I do have the password for it. But if you can remove the password while at it, that would help me avoid doing this extra step. Thank you.Attached FilesLeave a comment:

Re: Dell G5 15 5500 bios needed
Perhaps someone can verify that I am having bad BIOS issues. Currently, the BIOS is password protected by 8FC8 password. I have the password for it. However, on every boot, the keyboard starts flashing different colors (I think that's normal), the screen that is supposed to be prompting me to enter the password gets distorted. I get a window with its message cut off at different times. May be on my 10th attempt I get the 8FC8 window with full message and the box to enter the password in but the keyboard gets disabled, no keys work. External keyboard also does not work. However, I can do Ctrl-Alt-Del to reboot no problem. My thinking is if BIOS is bad, then you get random results like I am getting now.
Can someone confirm it's the BIOS?
Also, does the motherboard have a single or two BIOS chips? I am yet to take out the motherboard from the case.
If your device has 2 bios chips, they will be located near each other (on Dell computers).
Solution: post your bios file here we will rebuild it so you can rule out the cause of the error caused by bios (since you already have the password, you don't need to delete the password in the new file)Leave a comment:

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by mikeybassHi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run norm...

by 417731Hi, I have a problem while updating the bios 1.27.0. After that the display went off & the bios states as Dell Inspiron 3505 in the F2 boot > bios > Device when I plug into a secondary monitor. As I don't have any experience in bios, request you to please help me to flash the Vostro bios as they share the common motherboard (GDI53 LA-K037P).
Model: Dell Vostro 3405

CPU:Ryzen 3500U
Thanks in advance-

by re1nholdHello Guys
I'm currently fixing two different Dell latitudes,
I need a E5550 BIOS - SERVICE TAG is: FSFB262
So far I flashed about 6 BIOS from this forum already,
none worked,
only fan spin ~3s, LCD black, keyboard LED on/off ok,
I tried manual extraction with scripts for ages so to speak. VM is untried yet.
This laptop is not burnt, it seems to just have a corrupted BIOS.
I extra baught ram. This has to work friends.
Do you generate it this way in Windows in CMD?:
Code:E5550A24.exe /writeromfile C:\bios.fd
