Asus UX51VZ BIOS Dump / Fix

    Hi,
I'm not 100% if its a corrupt BIOS, but this notebook is not coming on or showing any LED when connected to power. Sometimes it's coming on after BIOS reset, but also this does not work anymore.
My old BIN is attached, could someone probably check or fix it? Thanks in advance!

Post a picture of the white/green sticker on the motherboard, its the one with a barcode/QR code on it,and a model number. Its usually on or around the soldered ram/ram slot .

          Thanks, sadly does not work.
Also, I'm not 100% sure, it's a BIOS issue - just two times, it started to boot again, after shorting the cmos battery, now not anymore. Battery is charging (also charging LED changes color when full), voltages seem to be right, also 3.3 on the power button (which works as well) jus not powering on.
Probably I will open a new thread in general troubleshooting for this issue.

I can't believe, the problem is solved - it was the broken lid sensor! Replaced it with one from another, random mainboard. All working now.
Also, thanks a lot for your help!

Flashing ASUS UX51VZ with correct bios
              by Flyview
              Hi!

Happy to be part of this forum for my first post!

              Short story:
I believe my dad's UX51VZ has an incorrect bios (v207) for a UX51VZH flashed onto it. I'm not quite sure what the differences are between UX51VZ, UX51VZA, and UX51VZH. The serial number of this machine is D5N0CY845932229 and comes up as a "UX51VZ-DB103P" when checked on this ASUS website. All of the bioses can be found at this ASUS website.

              1) Do I have the correct bios or should it be the v205 for UX51VZ? Is there something I can check inside the machine to make sure?

ASUS ZenBook UX480F : need help with cleaning the ME region of my BIOS dump
              by mkdj
              Dear all,
I have a ASUS ZenBook UX480F with the following symptoms:

I suspect it is a BIOS issue. So I decided to try to clean the ME region. I followed the guide on win-raid, and I believe I have done everything correctly. My problem is: when I open the outimage.bin in ME Analyzer, it says that it is Extracted, and not Region, Extracted as it should be. Is it normal, or did I do something not correctly? This is my first experience editing BIOS files.

I would appreciate if someone could take time to explain the issue, so that I can learn. But I would...

[TUTORIAL] fix asus bios with bios from asus web support (by razor_amd)
              by razor_amd
With ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.

For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.

I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.

This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo UX8402ZA BIOS
              by pirati
              Hello everyone,

I recently bought a non-working Asus Zenbook Pro Duo OLED UX8402ZA that was listed for parts only. The seller mentioned that it had no display output but that the charging lights worked.

When the laptop arrived (without a charger and SSD), I connected a charger and confirmed with a multimeter that it was charging the battery. However, when I tried to power it on, only the backlight of the secondary display came on. There was no image, and it didn’t boot into the BIOS.

I decided to try flashing a new BIOS, but since I didn’t want to desolder...

Need real mobo dump of BIOS v402 for ASUS PRIME Z590-A - stock image no help
              by DynaxSC
              Hi,

I have a serious problem to program the Z590 chipset SRAM with a Management Engine after replacing the chipset.
The new chipset is factory new and is not containing any Management Engine. Any attempts to program it into the chipset under Windows ends with a failure (eg. Error 20: Management Engine Device not present, or something similar).
Due to the lack of the ME several ports on the board, including all M.2 ports aren't working, booting OS works only on USB. So it's now other way, as to program the chipset with a ME.

Usually on ASUS boards it worked...
