    Hello,
Now you can see how well the Rex98 software works.
The 16MB Bios chip doesn't need to be patched because nothing is found in it.
If you have 2 chips, as in your case, you have to consider which of the two should be processed.
In your case only the 8MB chip needs to be written back.

Is there a tutorial for beginners somewhere to follow?

Last night I've been able to fix other 2 laptops testing some of the bin files already shared on this thread, and found 2 files compatible (Latitude E5400_256_CLEAN.rar & BACKUP_DELL LATITUDE 5400 EDC41 LA-G891P REV 1.0(A00) 2019-03-28.rar)

    Thanks for your replay.
Looks like I have 2 options , either to buy another programmer or buy a hot air station or both.
Please recommend another programmer to buy and a budget hot air station to buy.
    Links would be preferable.

    Thanks

One fact is clear that I cannot read the chip if is on the motherboard using CH341 programmer, because once I connect the wires to programmer, programmer is not recognized by the Windows unless I've attache the power supply to the motherboard I am reading the BIOS chip. Even that I am getting an error like chip is not recognized
    Motherboard have a UC5 (25B64CYiG) and an UC6 (25B127DS1G) and UT6 (25Q80DVSIG)
I was trying to clip the UC6 (25B127DS1G) to CH341 but is not recognized. I was trying attaching wires and the same.

I am not sure CH341 is good enough to read the BIOS and post it here. Please share a better tool to do the job.

Did you desolder the chip from the board or are you reading it soldered? If so, you must remove it from the motherboard and read it out.

Dell Latitude 5400 Chromebook UEFI bios
    by jhanra
Hi there masters, recently i got a dell 5400 chromebook and wanted to install windows, i searched the internet and i found out other people also wanting a UEFI bios for this model, i searched there is a R/W legacy, but there are bugs like keyboard/trackpad not working, and hard to install.

so i decided to try to port one, this bios is based on dell 5400 windows version, i am testing this bios for a week now an found only a little to no bug at all in windows 10, or only a minor issue
in windows 11 sound driver compatibility, but overall its ok, for me i can deal with it, 😅😅😅...
