For those who need a clean BIOS (no passwords, factory defaults, without DMI) for the HP EliteBook 840 G5 (6050A2945601-MB-A01):
Since nobody here could help me, I turned to Wrong Chip on YouTube (link below). Here's my experience for others facing similar issues:- These BIOS files work—I successfully flashed both by CH341A (modded from 5V for 3.3V!) by Neoprogrammer on Windows:
- 32MB chip (W25Q256JVEIQ)
- 16MB chip (W25Q128JVPQ)
- My W25Q256JVEIQ BIOS was corrupted (physical damagel). You can use my files, but they do NOT include DMI data (you have mine attached for serial 5CG013DSCM)
- DMI Solution: Wrong Chip provided my DMI data, which I injected using the method shown in this video:
- HP Manufacturing Program Mode | WHY it Happens & How to LOCK it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucZ-nn1aEt0
- HP Manufacturing Program Mode | WHY it Happens & How to LOCK it
- Boot Failure? Another reason my laptop wouldn't turn on was accidentally removing the 22-ohm resistor. If your motherboard is unresponsive, double-check all resistors!
My DMI if you don't have yours you can try as above YouTube movie after start

I need new bios
I broke my W25Q256JV bios (phisically) from HP EliteBook 840 G5 6050a2945601-mb-a01
May I ask for BIOS for serial number 5CG013DSCM ProdID 2FA66AV please?
I tried adjust bios bymyself to change Serial Number with HEX but still I have issue CPU fan spins at maximum speed.
Is it requires to flash also second 16MB bios as well?
Thank youLeave a comment:

hello everyone, mistakenly i have read the main bios instead EC chip. now my laptop is working but keyboard is not working properly i think because of the main bios corruption. can someone send me the original main bios file for W25Q256JVEQ chip? in this model EC chip is located under the motherboard which is 128MB chip. in 256MB does not include security things like bios passwords and all. bios password i removed successfully from the 128MB chip by searching active on hxd file but after that also keyboard is not working properly and when i use with bios password it worked very well.i tried to reprogram with the backup that i mistakenly read for 256MB but the issue still appears. maybe i have not read it properly. unfortunately here i can not upload the attachments it says i am not allowed to attach bin file extensions. S/N 5CG922701G PROD ID 2FA66AV. i connected external usb keyboard also but issue persisits. please help me with it. thanks

by WahazHello,
I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....-

by traxformaniaHello,
I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).
But today it's not accepting my password. I'm %100 sure i'm entering the correct password.
I'm trying to reset my bios without success.
I tried :
-I removed the BIOS battery and main battery. Waited for a long time but it didn't work. They already stated in the user manual that the password will not be reset even if the batteries... -
by cyborg17bHi guys,
I have acquired a HP Elitebook x360 1040 G5 laptop with the motherboard model BLURR-6050A2999101-MB-AX3(S3).
The laptop is actually engineering sample, as it displays this message on the boot screen: "Your system is not fully configured. pLease contact HP customer support.
Warning: This BIOS is Not for Production Use".
I had purchased a BIOS chip from ebay to replace the BIOS with the error message, but once installed in the motherboard in the WSON8 adapter, I think their technology "SureStart"...-

by razor_amdWith ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.
For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.
I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.
This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...-
