Hello again badcaps team! In the end I tried modifying the BIOS with autopatch and I managed to create the patched image of my original BIOS, then I tried erasing the original and flashing the patched image to do the password reset according to the steps you have to do in your post of the autopatch manual. Also, now I have some practice and I know how to verify the flashes well and I know when I can have a failure and correct it, and I do all the work correctly, but it turns out that my image patched with the autopath does not work (the LED of the ESC key and the LED of the letter "i" on the THINKPAD sticker at the bottom right of the keyboard remain permanently lit) and it does not start, it remains black screen and does not start. I have tried flashing my original BIOS image again and the PC works correctly, and again I tried flashing the patched image but I have the same error, black screen, fixed LEDs on and black screen without starting. From what I understand, I think there's a problem with the patched image, but I followed the steps and everything turned out fine. Could you review my patched image or fix it if it's not correct?
I'd appreciate it while I'm unable to read the EC chip.
    Thank you very much.

I've read many posts on your forum looking for information, but I haven't found a solution. I've seen that there's also an option to connect some pins of the Nuvotron ncpe288 chip to GND, shorting the LPC bus between LAD0:3 and GND, but it hasn't worked for me. I've tried it several times, using pins 1, 128, 127, 126, and GND from the LLA-1 17833-1M motherboard schematic, but I haven't been successful. I haven't been able to reset the BIOS password following the steps in the post, as the BIOS option always appears to be locked with a password. I would greatly appreciate it if any of you could provide a solution. We have several Lenovo PCs of this model in our company with the same problem, which we offer to our students without financial resources so they can study. So, if anyone could help me and provide a solution, I would greatly appreciate it.
      Best regards.

Thank you very much for your help, Maxpower3!!! I tried the image you provided, and the PC won't boot. It freezes (the ESC key LED and the "i" LED on the THINKPAD sticker on the bottom right of the keyboard remain permanently lit). It means a black screen, solid LEDs, and a black screen that won't boot. This is also the case when I tested the jumper between LAD0 and GND on the Nuvotron NPCE288GA0DX chip (I got the same freeze and couldn't boot the PC or enter the BIOS). I reflashed my original BIOS image, and the PC started up perfectly again, with the password back as it was at the very beginning. So, something must be wrong with the patch. It's a shame neither method works, but I appreciate your time and help. Any other ideas to try? If you need any more data or files, just ask me...
          Thanks, Maxpower3.

Thanks again for your help, Maxpower3! I'm looking at the files you sent me, but I see there are 4 images. Could you tell me how to flash them or which files to flash? Is there an order I should follow? Could you please specify how I should proceed and test them? I'd appreciate it. I'm still learning from all of you, and although I'm beginning to understand some methods by reading the rules and steps in the posts, I still have to gradually learn more from you...
              Thanks, Maxpower3!

Test them one by one to see if the image comes. Start with auto patched and no pwd. I don't believe the others.

Perfect, first of all, thank you so much for continuing to help me, Mxpower3. I really appreciate all your help.
I'll explain the entire order of work I've done and the results I've obtained. I've tried each of the images, and in this order:
1-> Yoga 11e_Password vss FF AUTO_PATCHED -> PC WON'T boot; black screen and both LEDs on solid
2-> Yoga 11e_Password vss FF + Nopwd_Patched -> PC WON'T boot; black screen and both LEDs on solid
3-> Yoga 11e_Password vss FF -> PC WON'T boot; black screen and both LEDs on solid, and 4 beeps.
4-> Yoga 11e_Password vss invalid -> The PC turns on, the screen displays: 0183: Bad CRC of Security Settings in EFI variable, when you press F1 the BIOS password icon appears differently as if it were a person icon, (before it was like a lock), but it does not enter the BIOS, I try with "1234", "1111", "0000", "Lenovo"... but everything gives an error, not even pressing the ENTER key directly is it able to enter the BIOS; the PC turns off. (attached photo of the image on the screen).

                    Ok thanks for many try

                    Ok FF not work
just ff 4 bip weird, others bios mod must be checksum wrong

Vss invalid work but with supervisor password

I saw a post here about correcting checksums for Insyde BIOS.
                    It's interesting.
Maybe it can prevent modified bios with Autopatch from not booting.

Thank you so much for continuing to help me here, Maxpower3.
I skimmed the PDF and the link you posted in the post, and I think it would take me months to understand all that info... hehehehe...
I'm still a newbie and I'm just learning, to be honest. That's why I don't really understand what you're showing me. I'll try to read everything little by little to see if I can figure something out. But thank you, really. Anyway, I tried the images you posted in the post, but with both flashed, I get the same problem as always: -> PC WON'T start; black screen and both LEDs lit solid as before. It seems like this motherboard or BIOS is resisting. Too bad. I don't know if there are any more options left to try... but thank you for trying with me and for your patience.

By the way, I don't know if it's important, but when I flash my original image with a BIOS password, when I press Enter I can enter the BIOS, but I can't change anything because the supervisor password is enabled in the Password menu. One thing I didn't mention is that the option to set UEFI BIOS options and password at unattended boot is also enabled. Could this help further?
                          Thanks again.

Hello again, and thanks Maxpower3 for continuing to check and sending me the images for testing.
I flashed the last three images you provided in the link, and all three have the same result as always; (black screen, PC does not start, and the 2 LEDs of the "ESC" key and the "i" letter of the Thinkpad logo are permanently lit and the PC is locked without showing the boot LOGO or entering the BIOS or the errors of "CMOS" battery failure and pressing ESC or F1 or anything at all appear... Then finally I tried to flash my original image and it worked again, it shows the error of bad CMOS checksum or something like that (because of the 3 volt battery I suppose) and the option to press ESC or F1, and the PC starts perfectly as always with the BIOS password as at the beginning... Anyway, I thank you very much again for your time, I would be happy to give good news, it seems that this motherboard is resisting and it's becoming something personal and I want to see it work and unlocked... hehehe... But anyway, for my part, I don't mind trying as many times as necessary if you send me more test images, I have no problem trying 50 times if necessary... hahaha,
I'm still waiting to see if I can try another image or something else.
Thank you very much and best regards!

Should I buy a Lenovo Thinkpad E495 with bios password?
                                        by RMDUiFT
Good day. I apologize if I posted this in the wrong topic. I saw somebody selling a Thinkpad E495 with a Ryzen 3500U CPU near me. In the pictures the laptop is running windows 10. I contacted the seller and asked a few questions about upgradability and if it has a bios password on it. He confirmed it has a bios password. I searched through the forum, I found a guide regarding removing the bios password using the autopatcher, I also found a thread with the e495 where people requested help with unlocking the bios password.

                                        I have a few questions:
